Hey Folks,

I have attached a picture of my rear tyre showing some damage on the tyre wall.

Is this something that you would be concerned about? The tyres where rubbing on the guard.

Any advice or concerns would be great.

ps. sorry about the size of the photo

Regards,

Daniel

I bought tyres and drove them around whilst they contacted the guards over bumps, and with passengers, for a period of about 3 weeks. They were soft too, with a wear rating of 200. The guard kept taking rubber bands out of the sidewall right where it meets the tread, probably about 2-3mm also. I've been driving around for months since I rolled up the guard lip (including a 900km drive from Brisbane to Sydney on 110 the whole time), and it hasn't resulted in catastrophe. We'll se how it goes...

Can you see any fabric at all? Post up a better pic. At the end of the day you need to make a decision. The rubber is there for a reason, especially in todays competitive market. Can you both afford and handle a blowout on the highway? If not, get a new tyre.
