Hi guys havent been on in ages... havent had access to a pc been using my iphone but only going as far as uploading to facebook to get my pics since the site doesnt have the ability to upload pics via mobile...

Well ive come a long way since my last post ill give a quick rundown on whats happend thus far.

My racepace built sump arrived and was a work of art ! loved every bit of it, the sum was installed btw was a prick of a job :D

turbo / hot side was complete with all factory lines running thanks to the NITTO head oil drain which i was glad to be the 1st public owner! and it does wonders for people trying to maintain factory lines.

Recoed my alternator only reason was it looked like shit on the motor so i decided to sandblast and paint the housings but everything fell out (never pulled one appart) so i decided to replace bearings etc and it turned out amazing !

the intake side consisted of drilling holes on the intake runner for the D-jetro using all the tomei gaskets supplied... recoing the AAC unit and replacing every worn out hose with silicone ones also using awesome hoseclamps that dont tare into the silicone

Cam covers turned out sexy as with the decision to go polished manifested in my head thanks to my dads gorgeous jaguar engine bay i was then convinced i had to !

The oil filter housing / cooler / heat exchanger needed a new oring which was not supplied i had to find one at work that worked LOL but its all good fits perfectly i wish i had the cash to get a oil relocation / cooler now....!

im at the point now where i have the entire fuel system minus injectors... but i am not going to install the system as i wont be able to chek for leaks / problems by running the car if i install it... the d-jetro will want to learn idle.. there for i am not installing the ecu just yet...

as i cant let my new baby idle..

standard ecu / injectors will be installed ( injectors got tested for $165 and i will sell the injectors for $250 later on after initial run / test is achieved) . after testing is done ill install my fuel system and tow to my tuner ( trent @ status ) to see what she can do :)

now all thats left is time... and some front drive shaft boots and were getting there :D

Pics below .

Hi guys,

Im happy to let you all know that the install and first start / run was a success everything worked out well, as my first rebuild i think i did a decent job on it and learned a shit load!

at the moment the cars running but we have issues and i suspect its the fuel delivery but also can be something to do with electronics, whats happening is ...

cylinders 3 / 4 are not firing spark has been checked and is working to both 3 and 4... and using noid lights injector cables were tested and seem ok...

igniter and ecu were also swaped and checked all seem ok...

i took it to a trusted mechanic / specialist on gtr/s and they also swapped over injectors to see if they fault in other cylinders but it just seems to be only 3 and 4.....

diagnosis will continue on the 24th of this month as hes away overseas for business...

to add we did a comp test to make sure it was not something i installed wrong or fkd up... all cylinders have 160 psi ( without being run in yet)

at the moment im really happy the cars running and ok mechanically and small issues can be fixed

to be honest im really proud of myself and i need to thank sau for providing alot of the info i needed for the build and the books i spend like 200 bux on lol!

ill upload dyno results when i get it on there and all issues are attended to...

Just a small list of the shit that got done prior to the drop in...

drive shafts were re booted, nismo mounts installed etc p/s hoses replaced whole engine bay got cleaned / polished best as possible .

Had to stick with my twin plate clutch which isent to bad atm works great may invest in nismo cylinder and clutch line to make it better..

waiting on R34 gtr center badge for valley cover and new twin turbo logo as i sprayed the inlet pipes black .... went for a neat look ..

running 15w40 Penrite running in oil (mineral based) took 9 litres engine ran / warmed up and did a quick oil and filter change after like 10 mins running atm running another sump full of running in oil ..for the next 1000klm

any tips on running the bastard in would be great im planing on just keeping revs varying and taking it on the freeway to do that... is 1000klm enough i also herd more like 5000klm.... but i dont wana run the oil for that long...

anyway pics below ill post up new info when cars ready for dynoing

oh oh! i got my injectors btw :D id1000s :) (not bosch )

and scored some 2nd hand cusco coilovers !

    • I would paint match the whole thing to avoid unwanted attention  I had a similar bonnet, paint matched, on my old R33 GTST, but mine was a fibreglass jobbie made by Blitz in QLD, they work extremely well for radiator efficiency and under bonnet temps
    • Does anyone run this kit with factory plenum? Does the adapter and bosch tb fit under factory strut brace? I wanted to get this setup before going forward facing manifold. Thanks
    • small update time, after always wanting a "cool" looking bonnet for my car and always struggling to find one for the series 2 that i liked and wasn't an insane amount of money. Saw one i liked on RHDjapan from D-speed in Japan the price was very good for a carbon bonnet so good infact i was a little unsure how much i trusted it, decided to bite the bullet and with the help of jesse streeter in not long at all it was at my door. Once it was delivered i ran in from work and quickly unboxed it and to my surprise the quality was actually pretty good i quickly removed the old bonnet and placed on the new one to test it out and even the fitment wasnt too bad at all. Then decided to paint the little grille in the bonnet black to stop it sticking out so much.   I decided to not mess around with the hood latch and just install some aero catch hood pins, having never installed them before did some YouTube university classes and i was good to go. fair to say it is not a fun job at all from making brackets so the pins sit nicely and actually cutting through the bonnet but also being very scared of cutting the holes too big it took wayyyy longer than i would like to admit but finally got it there. Then it was time for a quick test drive to ensure the latches actually worked and thankfully the bonnet looked very stable. I still think paint matching the bonnet and leaving just the part that sticks up as carbon would help make it all look alot neater as im not sure how i feel about all that carbon on a very fridge white car but will leave it as is and see how i feel with time.
    • I think it's bound to happen, you finally get it all perfect, and bam, something will happen. I took a while to get a Commodore rear quarter repaired where a P Plater clipped it. Two days after getting it back, Sarah wiped it out on a concrete pillar in an underground car park... This is why I take forever to repair them, it stretches how long until it gets bent again... 😛
    • Nah, not really responsible for that little fiasco, but I'm still pissed at myself for writing off my 86, or when I reversed my VX into a pole just before selling it, but, meh, 5hit happens to stuff, all it takes is a slight distraction, and life is full of distractions, and "dooh" moments
