my nissan r33 ,ive changed pod k&n fillter ,i new iridum spark plugs ,boost control to 11 psi .when i go 5000-7000rpm i sometimes get a popping noise throw exhust. Pen lugs are set at 1.1. the problem when i accelerate slower its ok . but when when accelerate full throtle at arround 5000-7000rpm i get poping.

it fills like to much air & fuel is going into the engine & coses to cut out .cars got front mount intercooler & apexi exhust.

IF ANYONE CAN HELP IT WILL BE VERY HELPFULL

Pull the plugs out and either gap them down to atleast .8mm or buy some bkr6e pre gapped at .8mm. If this doesnt fix it u will need new coil packs.

Or u can drop the boost back down to stock

new plugs iridium 1.1 all good

Buy coppers next time and gap to 0.8mm. Kristina are horribly expensive. I buy a set of copper plugs for mine for $20 and I run 18psi all day everyday. You don't need iridiums as has already been said, coppers will save you a bunch money

^ as already said before buddy, it will probably bee your ccoilpacks. Either do a refurb on them or buy some expensive splitfires. I would just do the refurb and drop the boost back until I could afford the splitfires buddy. Get a video up of it on youtube and post the link in here if your still concerned.

    • Also, at that point if the engine support stand slips I hope you can bench press 200+kg of RB26. Considering the oil pan has to be RTVed on as well which has like a 15 minute working time between the first drop coming out of the tube to fully torqued to spec I would probably never attempt pulling the oil pan unless the engine is on a proper stand.
    • It’s a gtr, has an alloy sump and will not stick to it obviously
    • Just wait until R31s catch the contagion.
    • As you can tell from updates....I haven't had a lot of shed time lately. When I'm on this though, I feel like I'm reliving Neil's last days. Everywhere I go on the car I seem to come across something he was working out. When I went up to his place just after he passed, I noticed he had a RB starter motor in the vice. And sure enough, this was my shed today So, last episode I mentioned the battery had 12.4ish volts but when I turn on the kill switch it drops to 9ish volts. Even with the stater main power removed, same. Matt said above: And yep, when I removed the solenoid power from the starter, the voltage jumped from 9 back to 11.7ish. Thus my testing the spare starter this arvo. Spare is good to go, just need to throw it in tomorrow. I'm not convinced that is the only issue as the voltage still drops from 12.4 to 11.7 when I turn the kill switch on, but first things first
