i probably shouldnt have said 'frame it right' as there is no right or wrong, but i said it because the sun seems to attract my eyes first and being slap bang in centre of frame my eyes just keep going back there instead of exploring the whole scene out properly. probably just me tho, its an awesome shot otherwise (exposure works so well, sky isnt too blown out and its not so dark that the car loses too much detail), i just would have tried getting more balance in there with different framing. like, sitting the sun over the end of the straight so the eyes grab the sun then follow the track back to the car, but other people probably dont see things in the strange ways i do. hence why im a bike messenger and not media.

Funny you say that - I didn't mention, I actually enjoy looking at the sun. I feel the car and the person are the 'extras' in this photo. This probably applies to no one else, but this is what I enjoy about this photo!

I like the sun shot how it is, both the car and driver are facing the sun directing you back to it. If its a picture of the sun and hot day it works, if its supposed to be a shot of the driver or car then what j says is correct. Sun should be in a secondary position. Perhaps just poking out from behind a bill board so your attention can sit on car driver. Either way I like it. It has a nice feel.

Any advice is always welcome, like I said I take photos for fun every now and then. I don't really know much about stuff like composition, framing etc.

Btw Jay I'm pretty sure I saw your ride past my site just now…on your back wheel lol

That's cool, I just like to see how other people think.

Matt your light painting shots are so awesome. Headlights and tail lights are what can make a car look so much nicer for me and you have made them pop nicely, so juicy. I would love a couple of those shots eventually.

some i took today with my phone(NOT i-phone)

one in the morning, one in the afternoon

Phones can take some pretty neat photos now.

If only there wasn't a tonne of noise on the left hand side of that afternoon shot.

Noise annoys me to hell now.. especially since I am using a 1000D... Looking to get my hands on a 7D very shortly because of it hehe

thanks mate. yeah, i like my phone because the cameras not THAT bad, after all, it is a phone with a camera, not a camera with a phone.

my bdays coming up, looking at getting my first decent camera, an EOS600D, dropping hints to the missus like crazy :D

i think shes caught on, now i play the waiting game....

probably, i was sitting in the young street car park watching the trucks getting loaded (lol) for a while.

monos on fixies are scary, haha. no back brake to help bring the front down if it gets a bit hairy, you just gotta stay committed.

Have you got any photos from when you used the 7D man? Would love to see them...

I will see if I can dig some up for you. But just remember im alwys shooting in low lit areas so the whole night im between iso1600-2500.

I could notice big difference between noise on the 7d and the 5dm2. Hense why I sold the 7d (backup camera), and bought another 5d2.

Another reason was that I didnt like the feel of the 7d in my hands (felt weird). Also I wanted two full frame cameras as it makes it easier to manage and quickly change settings etc.

Dont get me wrong the 7d is an excellent camera and I love its focus system (something the 5d2 lacks).

I found this a great review for the 7D and 5D and i think im sold on the 7D for price and useful features for learning.

Little silly comparing a full frame camera against a crop one. Also one that came out more than 2 years ago.

But yes for starting out and owning some efs lenses already, then the 7d will be the way to go.

Also I have had my 5d2 soaked in the rain from a modelshoot and it was totally fine. Was out in the rain for more than an hour.

But worth it :)

    • Hey guys. I have a 400R on its way to Australia from Japan currently and have a few questions I’m hoping others may be able to help with.   Wondering if anyone here has had any luck getting the Sat nav unit to work in Australia!? Assuming the Stereo is as simple as a band expanded and tv won’t work?  Seeing as they’re based off a Q50 which is Aus delivered is there any way to link that system to the nav? Nav modules and head unit are different part numbers and appear slightly different at the rear with plug ins etc. can I put my xtrail sd card into the rv37 and will that convert the maps or update to Australian? Has anyone got any advice here?     also has anyone fitted the factory remote start and Security system once it’s landed in Australia? I put an enquirey to Nissan Japan in via a third party, and they suggested it needs a Nissan Japan dealers device to setup and couldn’t guarantee if one here could do it or not. They can supply and I can physically fit it but to setup I would need a dealers device. Any information here would be appreciated also. I’ve seen one here with it fitted already prior to leaving Japan at a dealer/inporter, so clearly passes compliance and works when fitted Japan and doesn’t need changing here.      also, does the tyre inflation sensors work here? Does anything change with them when the vehicle arrives? Where are they actually situated? I’ve read they have batteries and they need to changing at times and seems like resetting involves the nav system?    any help here would be appreciated and any other aust specific information to help would be great. Looking forward to see what the current generation skyline is like and eager to see how many of the gadgets can be utilised here.  Thanks in advance
    • Do need to take it with a pinch of salt. One of the adapter failures, they clearly had setup issues with the flywheel.  One of the slipping ones I spoke to and it was pretty clear the throwout was riding, rather than fix, just swapped to a new clutch.    These clutches are being put in anything from 5k offroad 4x4 beaters, GR yaris, 500hp commodores to 1200hp barra monsters. Bound to be some issues in some of them when they are not a simple bolt in affair due to the changes in height.    There is a lot going on in this picture and unless I did the job myself no way to tell what really happened.
    • I did this mod in 2019  You just have to modify the top bracket of the ABS/TC/Fuel Pump Control ECU so it sits more upright and closer to the back seat and run a good quality positive battery lead from the engine bay, the negative lead i just bolted down to the body in the boot.
    • Damn... Not the feedback I want to hear.
