Welcome to the party Zorro.

Here's my fav and *maybe* Final pic from my V8 Supercar shoot last week. Looks like it's going to end up on a billboard and probably some magazines too.

howdy. you took the pic at a nce time and got some awesome colors, but...

looks like the focus is off a little. could be a little shake (even though it must have been on a tripod) from when you pressed the shutter. use 2 second self timer to help eliminate that. i noticed you used f4.8, for landscapes I'd use something a fair bit higher, from around 8-22 which will also help a little if you still have problems with focusing.

Hi Jay, thanks for the feedback.

I actually shot this using a remote and was standing about 1.5m away from the camera at the time of shooting. As for the focusing I can see what you mean as it does look out of focus a touch. Mind you the boats on the water are crystal clear when I zoom in on them, no motion blur that I can see.

It was windy at the time so maybe that affected the shot.

Once again thanks for your feedback,

Brendan.

did you have the lens on auto or manual focus? if it was on auto it might have shifted just a tad when you used the remote?

the ships being in focus but not the buildings would likely be because of the shallow depth of field you get from an f4.5 aperture

I am still a noob so I'm soaking up all this information like a sponge! So should I be shooting on manual focus? I will definitely go back and try again with an aperture of 8 or so.

Brendan.
