What Is This Device In My Fresh Jdm Car?

Hi all. I had a look at my car which is sitting waiting for compliance plates and found this device. Does anyone know what it might be?

i had something very very similar to that in my car! It was a car alarm. Did the keys come with a remote? If its what im thinking it is, the remote should have three buttons. A centre one and a lock/unlock button.

Mine was the alarm arm light which would flash etc

The brand is Comtec. They do make both alarms and radar detectors. The car already has a turbo timer so it can't be that. Just trying to get confirmation, I don't think the car came with any other keys or remotes.

yep rekin nailed it. part of the alarm system. lol, mine had a toggle switch so you could arm disarm the 'alarm' in the car! not much good when a theif hops in and just turns off the switch...

My alarm would go off if you just lifted the door handle or from a strong gust of wind.
