Yes, it's akward & fiddley, but that's where you should find that "steel clip". You wont need to remove any bolts.

Electronic boot release is easy to install... Jaycar has the kit, and you need a relay too. I've held my solenoid in with cable ties, and it's been there for about 9 months and gets used all the time. Just be careful though - if you set the thing up to pull the cable and not on the actual lock, it can sometimes pop open the fuel cap too

looking at the way mine came off, i'm wondering if it can be fixed, look slike i may just be missing some kind of small clip/washer on the back that holds the slidy nissan plate on - if anyone knows / can look for me please let me know what holds it on:)

got the part in the mail yesterday... didn't get the right one.. only one i've ever seen is hte metal one.. looks like brushed metal finish... the one he sent me is like black with a thick clear coat over it.... anyone know what its from?

Bringing up an old topic here, but how did you get on with this ferni? I have the same problem, and am looking at replacement/fixing this. Might have to get in contact with a few parts places and see if they have any.

Aurora: I fixed mine by pulling it apart and fitting it back together...

There are 2 different types tho - one is the brushed metal finish, another is a clearcoat finish...

I have a Series II R33, so it came with brushed aluminium version.
