SoFreshSoClean
I bought this a couple weeks ago, I've been having a lot of fun with it. Definitely one of the best games I've played this year. So far I've been going the stealth/hacking route. It's pretty rewarding sneaking around where you're not supposed to be and stocking up on free weapons (even though I am yet to shoot anybody ). Graphics are pretty good, voice acting is mostly good, but the story for me is the best bit. It really sucks you in and keeps you wanting to find out what happens. I also really dig that the side quests are all interlinked with the main storyline. Anyone else got it? blk94r33
Is it related to the original Deus EX (PC Version) from a few years back in any way? Or a seperate game all together? I remember the PC one being pretty good for it's time, up there with Unreal/CS etc.. syfon
Yeah i downloaded it through Steam. I'm really enjoying it too. I've just finished off the last mission in Detroit and am now in the second area (some warehouse and lots of guys with machine guns?) I think the graphics could be A LOT better, however the in-depth storyline compensates for this massively. Gameplay compared to the original Deus Ex is awesome, but i really feel as though Eidos/Square Enix could have used a more up to date graphics engine. Other than that I'm really enjoying the game. Where abouts are you up to? I've taken the "make as much noise as you can" route, and the "blow shit up" route. Found pretty much everything in detroit - spend the best part of 3days going through it lol. Is it related to the original Deus EX (PC Version) from a few years back in any way? Or a seperate game all together? I remember the PC one being pretty good for it's time, up there with Unreal/CS etc.. The original Deus Ex is set in the year 2052, while the latest Deus Ex is set in 2027, 25 years before the first title, where corporations have extended their influence past the reach of global governments. Basically the new game is about the beginning of human augmentations, terrorist organisations/gangs trying to stop Sarriff industries from doing the augmentations, and the effect it has on society etc. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/376453-deus-ex-human-revolution/#findComment-6004237 Share on other sites
GTS-t VSPEC
I finished it in a few days, and now going back and playing it a 2nd time. Definately an enjoyable game Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/376453-deus-ex-human-revolution/#findComment-6004257 Share on other sites
KezR33
I find it too easy. I went the whole stealth hacking route too, but in the end just shooting everyone is far easier. Except the first boss. I f**king hated that guy. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/376453-deus-ex-human-revolution/#findComment-6004526 Share on other sites
BigDirtyJase
I quite like the game...I haven't finished it yet but enjoying it. Yeah the first boss was a PITA to beat...died numerous times before I killed him I think the graphics could be A LOT better, however the in-depth storyline compensates for this massively. Gameplay compared to the original Deus Ex is awesome, but i really feel as though Eidos/Square Enix could have used a more up to date graphics engine. Deus Ex is using a up to date graphics engine (sort-of). they used a Crystal Dynamics (creaters of the rebooted Tomb Raider) engine and modified the hell out of it. You have to remember that this is a multi platform game so graphics are somewhat sacrificed. IMO the graphics look very good, the colour pallete makes the game very blade runner looking...lots of yellows and blacks Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/376453-deus-ex-human-revolution/#findComment-6004578 Share on other sites
Hanaldo
I finished it in a few days, and now going back and playing it a 2nd time. Definately an enjoyable game Yeh that's the beauty of games like these, there's so many different ways to play it; you can just go back and play it again and it's a completely different game I find it too easy. I went the whole stealth hacking route too, but in the end just shooting everyone is far easier. Except the first boss. I f**king hated that guy. Up the difficulty? And if you find it too easy... Why do you take the easy route? lol Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/376453-deus-ex-human-revolution/#findComment-6004685 Share on other sites

For the most part its trial and error, and having to load all the time if detected makes for slow progress. Whereas making a stand and taking out the whole building is far more enjoyable. Yo-Yo
on the 360 there are achievements about not tripping alarms & whatnot so I did a stealthy playthrough, now I'm gonna just shoot everything on my second run with all the guns, then I'll do a 'pacifist' run after that. The bosses were waaaay too easy, I played on the hardest difficulty first go & the bosses can be killed in less than 2 minutes with a combo of grenades, mines & combat rifle Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/376453-deus-ex-human-revolution/#findComment-6005011 Share on other sites

I just disconnect if I'm about to be booted by the trace. Takes up an attempt, but it's better than having to wait to be let back in. I haven't found a security system that I can't hack within 3 attempts yet. It's not ALL trial and error, there is a lot of strategy to it. When I first started playing I just went in and started trying to hack every node in sequence. Then I figured out the strategy, and now it's not so hard. To be honest, I'm not that far in the game yet. I've been rather busy this week so haven't had much chance to play it. I'm up to the part just after the warehouse bit, where you leave Sariff HQ and are out in the streets. Just doing the sidequests now. I'm taking the stealthy "leave no man conscious" route lol. Trying not to be discovered, but still taking out every bad guy I see, either silently or lethally. Sometimes it turns into a fire-fight, it's good fun though This game really takes me back... The original Deus Ex was the first ever shooter game I played as a kid. I loved that game so much, I can remember the very first mission I played at the Statue of Liberty. I got spotted by a bot and got so scared I ran off from the computer and hid in my room Took me a good couple of days to finish that mission because every time I got scared I would run back to the start and wait it out for like half an hour lol. Who can remember shooting pigeons? That shit was amazing Edited September 8, 2011 by Hanaldo Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/376453-deus-ex-human-revolution/#findComment-6005855 Share on other sites

Hanaldo
Plus half the codes are lying around on peoples desks etc.. Yeh that's gay though, sif I would remember or pay any attention to what codes I've picked up. Even if I've got the code I'll hack it, I hacked Adam's own computer in his office lol. I walked around Sariff HQ for a good hour just hacking everyone shit Turns out the guards don't like it though... They'll kill you where you stand. 25GTT
Love It Love it love it! I was pissed of with Duke Nukem forever (read my thread) and uninstalled it only 1 hour in, and installed this one. I think i am up to the second mission at the moment (have completed my side quests) and am really enjoying it. Very mass effect like but i never follow story lines but seem to be able to follow this one so far. I can never hold enough items though in my back pack so the first thing i have been upgrading is hacking and carrying items. What other mods (augmentations) are the best to use? Whiplash
Just encountered the "blank screen bug" so i have no HUD, cross hairs and Waypoints. DivHunter
Had this gifted to me sat night and downloaded it. I have completed the Hill whatever Park thing place and am back in Detroit. I have already restarted the entire game once because I messed up my augs. Running around with just a modded 10mm and the tranq rifle, mostly doing non-lethal takedowns. So I thanked jebus that I had picked up the sniper rifle along the way for the boss fight. Pretty easy, on hardest setting. Just ran around sniping him in the face. Sometimes I accidentally tap Q instead of TAB when I want to go to the map etc. Sorry homeless guys. I am thinking a modded shotgun is going to be the go for at least one boss. KezR33
Typhoon system is like the "I Win" button. Just load up on ammo at the limbo center and save it for any tricky fight/mob/boss. For everyone else a heavily modified pistol round to the head does the trick. DivHunter
Div's tip for second invisible ladyboss. KezR33
lol all you need is typhoon ammo. I had stocked up on like 10 uses from the limb clinic and it takes like 3 uses. Anyone else find it funny that the zombie soldiers are more dangerous running around mindless, than they were when working together with machine guns and grenades? Why buy and waste typhoon ammo when you are given the weapon you need for each boss in the same level they are in? I then sold the heavy rifle for 1500 or whatever it is, not that I need credits, I have more than I can spend. I wish there were more gun mods at the dealers.
