I just thought I would share that Monday I impounded a car for the first time since the 30 day impounds came in.

Very satisfied as he was a drink driver almost 4 times the limit and a disqualified driver. This will be his 6th drink driving matter and same for disqualified driving. At least I hope now we have stopped him for a while!

Hopefully the courts back us for once and give him a sentance he deserves.

This is the kind of thing I like to hear. But 6th drink driving and disqualified? 30 days isn't enough. He should lose the car for as long as his disqualification.

Two things I'd like to know. Was it HIS car, and what type of car?

Where our mate got his car back with a new motor and clutch and it just slightly chirped the wheels. (for about a quarter of a sec) because he was still getting used to it. Copped a 30 day impound. Massive bs

It was his car and it was an old nissan pulsar.

Good. I know it could happen, but I've never head of people having someone else's car impounded for 30 days.

It would only take one or two people getting their friends car impounded for the duration of a disqualification and then no one would lend that person a car.

30 day impound straight up? Did he have priors?

lol @ same punishment as a 4 time over the legal limit drunk driver.

Screw impounding, guy can get/borrow another car...when you've done it 6 times and haven't learnt your lesson, you shouldn't be sharing the road with other people.

thank you though for helping to take an obvious douche bag individual off our roads... yes, hopefully the court does something meaningful about it

How the f*ck can someone be picked up 5-6 times for drink driving / having a disqualified license and just let go each single time to do it all over again?

Am I the only person thining W..T..F..?

This states laws / sentencing are a f*cking joke! :glare:

You're right! WTF? how can someone get done so many times?

I'd say the laws are out of proportion.

Bashings, stabbings = good behaviour & smack on the wrist (how often do we hear about these instances?)..... versus speeding = massive fines, etc . Not condoning speeding, but there seems to be an imbalance here.

Speeding fines have always been about revenue, consider that everyone pays the same fines and yet not everyone has the same income...if it was really just a case of deterring people from speeding, people would have their licence suspended for a day, a week, a month and so on...that's it...no money.

But no, speeding fines are designed not to deter too much...else there would be no revenue. The fact that most people have had at least one for a minor offence, and will continue to, kind of moots the point of punishing the crime in that way IMO...unless it's about creating revenue...oh wait...

I know it's a tired point/cliche, but shit, if everyone acknowledges it is a bullshit system...why isn't it a key point to ride on In a state election and steal votes by opposing it? Gotta be people out there who think it's completely fine just the way it is.

The court system is a joke. I had a similar thing like this a couple of months ago with offender that we caught drink driving blind drunk (refused breath test) was disqualified and fired up assaulting 3 police. he was that drunk he passed out and had to get ambulance to rush him to hospital.

He went to court with these matters and other's from few months before where he had hit run accident while drunk again, victims followed him and tried to speak to him. He then deliberately tried to run them over and hit car again with baby inside. Fired up on members again and these were his 5/6th drink driving and disqualified not to mention the conduct endangering life and again he STILL didn't get any jail time.

Nice Graeme!

Funny thing is 'hoons' are tarnished with such a nasty swipe, yet people like this are just as common yet get away with it time and time again.

Really shows the Gov't focus is not on actual policing it correctly at all when the Justice system fails as badly as it is.

I got an e-mail today from our impound section and found out that he fits criteria for us to apply to court to have his car permanently forfeited to state. We will definitley be trying to do this.

Well done on removing a dangerous driver off the road. I don't understand how can court system let these kind of people on roads.

And all the best in convincing the courts to have his car forfeited to state permanently - I'm sure it's no easy task.

Would he still fit the criteria if it was someone else's car?

He would fit the criteria with his prior offences but in general we don't impound vehicle that isn't owned/normally driven by the offender. That's pretty much the first question the Senior Sergeant asks is whether the car is owned by the offender.

    • I much prefer that to an actual oil pressure issue, never would of thought it would of been a volt drop issue but SAU brains win again. Guess ill be turning down the oil pressure limit for the track and hunting some grounds. Ill hopefully update this thread with some high oil pressure and solid ecu voltage logs.
    • You've just discovered a really good reason to tell yourself, yes, I do need to buy an aftermarket ECU. Put the MAF in the bin. Slap in the new ECU and have a think about what turbo sounds you prefer.  Do you want a 90's style BOV wooosh? Do you want a hektik tsututututu?  Mate, can't go wrong. Just gotta get that ECU and the world is your oyster.
    • Hi. Iam just curisou about this topic. I saw this video. It is about Greddy Type FV2. I know that BoVs are about that sound but how and when to use it? I read some topic here and from what i have understand on stock RB with MAF there will be some "problems" if you use this BoV? It vents the air in to the atmosphere and the MAF on stock car needs this air back in to the intake and not out? Or is it wrong? If so...i saw you can put some adaptor to circule air back...but does that not "loose" that sound? I saw another BoV from Turbosmart and it has two "exhaust" like ports? One is for the stock tubing for letting air back and one is for "sound" and let the air in the atmosphere? Can someone please explain? This is the Greddy one:  And this is the Turbosmart.     THANK YOU!! EDIT: So i read about this topic some more and i if i understand that correctly: That Greddy can function either like BoV or 100% Bypass valve? And that Turbosmart is what they called hybrid so you can adjust what and how many air can be vented out or back in? Is this right? THX!
    • That dirty voltage drop is the culprit I suspect
    • i cant get them all in 1 screenshot unfortunately as i just dont know how to move things around tbh, but they are all from the same log and the line crosses at the same point for all of them
