hey guys,

me and my girlfriend are going to newcastle for a night tonight because were moving up there next year so were going to look at areas to buy then go out for a few drinks.

just wondering what car to take, i want to take hers to save a bit of coin but i more want to take the skyline for comfort and fun for the long trip, just looking at places to stay and its hard to find a cheap place with secure parking. do you think if we stay in the cbd ill need parking? or are the streets fine to park on???

Newcastle cbd is PACKED with drunks through all ages all friday and saturday night. I've driven in and left my car for a few hours a few times, but not sure if I'd leave it there overnight. There's a reason clubs in newcastle can't sell jagerbombs or shots, have a lock-in and a curfew, the alcohol fueled violence late at night in town can get pretty bad.

Newcastle is not big though, you could stay in another suburb/hotel if you wanted to and still get around the next day.

i stay away from the city for the same reason, the cops can be bad as well.

come stay in lake macquarie, it's much better.

it's on the edge of the no go zone
