Last night (about midnight):

Driving south on the F6 at 105km/h past the Helensburgh onramp,I look over to see a station wagon booting it up to about 120 to merge..

I was the only vehicle around so I moved in to the right hand lane to make it easy for them.. Then pulled back in behind them as they got about 100m ahead.

:whistling:

...To show their appreciation for this courtesy they then slowed to 95km/h. I changed lanes and overtook. ...They then accelerated and stayed in my blind spot for a minute or so, so that I could not get past without going over the speed limit...

I continued at 105-108km/h and off they went, at (approx) 120km/h on their merry way, veering all over their lane like they were preoccupied, and not focused on driving a motor vehicle.

Can anybody guess what was written on the side of the station wagon?????

....................POLICE................

Clearly, they were just trying to show a good example of safe, courteous and predictable road use. So that I may observe their skill and prowess and inspire me to better my obviously poor attitude to road manners. Knobs.

It's a pity there are cops like this, there are plenty of nice cops too, but morons like this give the rest a bad rep.

....

On another note;

When Johnny Boy racer and his wannabe mates want to have a go at the traffic light grand prix, I show them how it's done...

Rev up waiting for the 6000RPM launch.. Then take off driving miss daisy, as they pull 2nd gear chirpies in their Kitted hyundai excel, looking like douchebags.

..And I laugh myself silly. every time

I have no respect for bogan drivers, I am sorry. I find Jap car drivers much more respectable drivers. I often cop abuse from the bogan drivers. If anyone tried to spit at my car though, I will probably lose my temper pretty badly or throw tools at them. If I see someone who has respect for my car Ill give it a little squirt. Ill admit as a fellow skyline driver, I have came near skyline drivers who drive worse than a f**king grandma. You drive a skyline and in all honestly you do have SOME reputation in the car you drive. If you don't like what comes with driving a skyline, then maybe it isn't for you.

You drive a tuner on the streets of Sydney. What the hell could you honestly be expecting. Just today I had a work van tailgate me from liverpool to guildford. I had to give it a hit to get away from him only to have him catch up and have his car smell like it was on fire. Some people I understand... Some I don't.

If you are a fellow skyline driver and you are next to me, give it a little squirt. I have no interest in racing you but I would love to hear what your car sounds like. Don't be so boring.

Buy a Stagea. banana.gif

The only people that look at you are Mums with prams and all that kiddy stuff that desperately need a wagon! Oh, and Subaru/Volvo drivers that think its the new model out...

This man and I, we know!

I just had something embarrassing occur and if you are a member here, you are an absolute tool haha. Some silver R33 pulls up out of no where fangs it past me then stops at the light infront of me. Mind you there are a bunch of cars around, he revs the f**k out of it and does a full power launch. Number plate was BMW 53 or BWM something. Really what was the purpose of what you did?

Just up the road some you guy in a bus stop yelled out to me, complimented my wheels, asked which motor was in my car and gave me a thumb up. I gave him a rev and he complemented the sound. Also just passed my pink slip, new rego tomorrow.

I am a granny,and i surprise many.Nothing like a lil squrt every now an again.Tee hee. :D

I don't like the attention that my Riceline brings, so I drive it grandpa style.

My Subaru on the other hand...

Kind of intimidating when the car next to you is launching of the limiter (even if it is a liberty)

:D

Where about's did this happen? lol

Ahh, okay, just curious because my plates have 'BWM' at the start of them, but I drive an R34 instead.

Just found it interesting that someone has plates similar to mine also on a Skyline.

One Topic: I'e been told twice that I should give my car to someone that will drive it properly. both times the car wasn't even turned on in a carpark

I'm a big white dude, they where 14 year old Wogs.

The best comment i've ever heard

"I bet you wake up in the monring with a massive hard on knowing you get to drive that everyday"

it is a interesting thread. I can say i have had a fair share of both i love giving people who appreciate the car a squirt. I get comments every now again and sometimes from the most unlikely people like a tough as nails hq that was charged the owner came up and had a chat to me saying that my car sounded tough as hell and looked clean as and not ricey. I was in love with his hq. Than i have also had the odd abuse and alot and i mean alot of commodore drivers trying to run me which i hate.

Was that you? Teach me to do that but for f**k sake there were too many people around and they looked at me like I was gonna be a dickhead too.

    • I know this one’s the BB one. My tuner did make mention about the actuator. I am curious about the VCT as well
    • Might also needs a stronger actuator with the right preloading. With older 2019 built bush G3 units, BB upgrade or 21U housing down size makes a pretty decent gain in response as well.
    • Hey lads  so im finally putting together my rb30 forged bottom end and ran into an issue. I measured my main bearing clearance with arp main studs torqued to 60 ft-lbs using ACL H series STD size bearings and standard, un-ground crank shaft journals and got an oil clearance reading of about 1.3 thou measuring straight up and down and about 2.8 thou measuring at a 45 degree angle (just above and below the parting line). My machine shop said they measured the main tunnel and it was all within spec (they didnt say the actual measurement) and to go with a standard size bearing, which i have done and the clearance is too tight, I'm guessing because of the extra clamping force from the arp studs distorting the main tunnel. I was wanting to run about 2.5 thou main bearing clearance.  My questions are: 1. could i just use the HX extra 1 thou clearance ACL bearings? that would fix my straight up and down clearance making it about 2.3 thou, but then would the side to side clearance be too big at around 3.8 thou? 2. what actually is the recommended main bearing clearance for measuring near the parting line / side to side. i know its supposed to be bigger as the bearing has some eccentricity built into it but how much more clearance should there be compared to the straight up and down measurement? at the moment there is about 1.5thou difference, is that acceptable or should it be less? 3. If i took the engine block + girdle back to the machine shop and got them to line bore the main tunnel (like i told them to do the first time, but they said it didnt need it) what bearing size would i buy? the STD size bearing shells already slide in fairly easily with no real resistance, some even falling out if i tip the girdle up-side-down. If im taking material out of the main tunnel would i need a bearing with extra material on the back side to make up for it? this is probably confusing af to read so if something doesn't make sense let me know and ill try explaining in a different way. My machine shop doesn't come back from christmas break until mid January, hence why i'm asking these questions here. TIA for any help or info
    • I bought the model back in Japan in Feb. I realised I could never build it, looked around for people who could build it, turns out there's some very skilled people out there that will make copies of 1:1 cars or near enough. I'm not really a photo guy... but people were dragging me in a group chat for the choice of bumper as someone else saw the car before it was finished as they are also a customer of that shop. I took the photo in the above post because I was pretty confident that the lip would work wonders for it. Here's some more in-progress and almost-done pics. It gives a good enough idea as to what the rear looks like!   I have also booked in a track day at the end of January. Lets all hope that is nothing but pure fun and games. If it's not pure fun and games, well, I've already got half an engine spare in the cupboard
    • Well, do ya, punk? Seriously though, let's fu<king go! The colour and kit looks amazing on the car. Do you have any shots from the rear? I don't quite follow how the model came around. You bought the white kit and he modified it to match your car? Looks nuts either way!
