Cam Timing Dilemma

So, I took the timing belt cover off of my r33 gtst to check the condition if my belt. I made sure I put a mark on the cam gear adjuster (or whatever it is) and then when I put it back on I made sure it was in the same position. After driving it thought my engine light flashes when the rpm gets over 4,500rpm which I'm assuming is something to do with the cam timing.. whether i didn't put it exactly back in the same spot, or the teeth moved a tiny bit while fiddling around, I was wondering how I'm supposed to fix this, and have a done any damage to my engine revving it over 4500rpm when the cam timing has been out of alignment?

Ahh.. No idea :S I just saw the engine light flash I didn't notice anything else n haven't assessed my car since.

Are u running a power fc?

He means you need to use a timing light to set the timing, no matter how careful you mark it chances are if ypu dont set it with a light after willbe slightly off.

Not likely unless you did a trackday like that pumping it all day. Take it to workshop to set your timing if you cant yourself it will take them a couple of min.

I only revved it over 4500 once for literally 1.5seconds so that's ok then. Thanks for the help
