If you have money to modify the Rb26 and replace all the consumables Nothing beats the GTR, Eg; I bought a VERY clean 94" R32 GTR in 2006, At the time it was 12 years old, 70,000km on the odometer, PRice tag was 29,990 As i knew the owner of the car yard price dropped to 23k Which for that time was very good for the type on condition the car was in. Anyways since then i have spent 20-25k on the car. But let me tell you something interior is practically brand new body brand new and engine is almost brand new, let not forget With MUCH more power. 330awkw which is a safe tune, only 18psi. Bottom end is still in great condition and its still fully stock. Soon to come Forged everything and 380-400awkw and that should be enough for me, Should make it into the 10sec 1/4 which is what im after. An immaculate car inside and out, Big stereo system fully air con. !0 sec machine. Cant ask for more should total bill with the car included will probably come to 50-70k not sure yet as its a slow working progress, But for what it is and how it goes, its a bargin. FYI its my weekend car no way ill drive it everyday of the week. Too much petrol if you put the foot down alot and beleive me its just too tempting to put the foot down all the time, not good for oz laws lol

for 70k I can think of a few cars I would rather have over a 20 year old GTR

Eg Brand new FPV F6 = 60k drive away + 10k in mods = GTR left behind

Lol 70k on a GT-R ? Pull the other one, buy a beautiful condition specimen for 30k, spend 40, destroy the exige... Lol 70k on a GT-R and Lol at spending 70k on an FPV.

go read what I was reply too numb nut

Edit - that sounded a bit mean lol.

That is what he did, bought 23k GTR spent 40-45k

so its a 70k GTR

I know what you said dude, lol, my point was for 70k you should have a very fast GT-R, let's say much faster then a 70k FPV.

Let's face it, an FPV is just a tricked up Falcon. Good bang for your buck but that's pretty much where it ends.

and the GTR isnt a tricked up 4 Door R32.

Besides speed isnt everything...which one would you rather drive on holidays, cranky 20 year old GTR or 6 month old falcon?

The difference between a Falcon and an FPV pale in comparison to the differences between a non GT-R and a GT-R skyline.

Also, an R32 is produced as a sport car from the factory there is no base model that is just an A - B sedan, even the NA Auto ones are technically :P a sports car, because you are right, it's not just all about speed.

And I would rather drive a cranky GT-R over an FPV anywhere, I am a masochistic individual though.

for 70K .. id get a 34 gt-r .. or a porsche

or this http://www.carsales....id=12F1908D48F0

:D

*edit* yeah i'd take a 32 gt-r over an FPV .. I just like the looks of the 32

This little argument just just how useless threads like these are.

Just like people go on and on about how good R35s are....I still hate the f**king things

Yeah pointless exercise, But I'de rather have GT-R over an FPV even though I have nothing against the falcon.

Anyway, haters gonna hate Lol.

Oh c'mon now, we are comparing gtr vs evo not gtr vs pulsar.

I think both the evo and gtr engines would be pushed just as hard in rpm and gforce.

If their were solutions that didn't require the engine to come out why do we get so many spun bearings?

lol your drunk arnt ya, you reckon you could have 70k worth of gtr and a New FPV would leave it behide..... mate your off your head, i paid 20k for my nismo edition, if i spent 50k on it, there wouldnt be anything sub 500k that would have a chance on leaving it behide, in street trim a gtr with the right mods and abit of money spent, is the ultimate street car, the motive DVD drag challenge prove's it time and time again, 50k on a gtr will get you well into the 10sec mark, and theres not many FPV or HSV that will run those times in street trim, i mean 18inch wheels nice sounds system, the lot.

i raced a FPV F6 with a exhaust and a chiped ecu, and ate it up with my baby 300rwkw.... i would have blowin his windows out with 400-450kw..... think about it

I actually really like falcons but the gt-r is something special :)

plus my 63kg self would look silly in a falcon sized car
