Skyline V35 Coupe 04 Auto Triptonic How To Change Gear Newbie

Skyichigo, I have a set of 6 inch wheel barrow wheels that I was actually going to save for when I put 3 superchargers on my engine. I was told by a mate who sat in a car one time that Isami Amemiya uses them on all of his performance engines in Japan and swears that they help protect the engine when you're running 75psi. I will send you some pictures of his Touge Monster V8 RX7, its a tough looking machine but not as tough as his TRD R39 GTR V-Spec 3.

I have changed my mind and will leave the car stock for now but I can slap a few Ferrari Decals on them and do you a deal if you like? They cost me $6000 but I'll let you have them for $5000.

Also, with the stickers that you noticed where the wrong ones but still put on the car anyway, be careful when you take them off because you can completely mess up the handling of the car.

For the 4th time now, care to explain how 'bigger rims f**k the engine'? It may make a car slower, but WHERE does it state ANYTHING about causing engine problems? Handling problem, yes; it is NOT going to cause a piston to come flying out of your bonnet because you put 18" wheels on a car with 16" wheels standard.

it was when I did my RWC for my previous car, and when the mechanic look at my 19" rims. he said that the engine will work harder to run those big wheels and it's less space for the engine as well, and sometimes carrying too much heavy wheels on the car can possibly damage the engine mounting , and just by logic, you put bigger rims, your engine revs harder.. and imagine how long the engine life last compared to smaller rims.

And as for the discussion, just leave me alone already with my own small and peace world

hahaha.. just to confirm .. the TRD will be executed by tomorrow.. and I won't see it anymore for as long as I have the v35 ... long life to NISMO!! lol..

And as for the mechanic who told me this stuff, he is at collingwood, name Michael service centre, he is so gay that even a sticker on windscreen has to be removed to get a RWC...

Anyway glad I've joint this forum... it's fun here

Wow, just wow. Where to even start. That has got to be one of the stupidest things I have ever heard. I am willing to bet that either the mechanic there is completely retarded, or there is some language barrier here when you completely misunderstood what he said/meant.

BTW, if you ever want to sell your V35, sell it to an international uni student. They have NFI about cars. The chump I sold my V35 to, pulled out the dipstick and didn't know what to do with it. He had seen someone else doing it and assumed that it was something you had to do. ALSO, he gave me a call after a week of buying the car and told me that he had bent the fuel cover because he couldn't get it open when trying to fill up the car...

That sticker on the windscreen...did it happen to be smack bang in the middle of the windscreen? If so then yes I completely agree with your mechanic it needed to be removed for RWC...I think your mechanic is a pretty switched on person.

As for the bigger wheels ruining your engine..I kinda agree too. I would personally recommend for best overall performance...15x7 +49 all round. No guard rolling neccessary.

For the sticker, it only sits on the top of the window, where it doesn't has anything to do with your driving's vision. And he said I might kill someone with that sticker on? LMAO.. Nah he just a dick who is jealous as young kids nowadays own better car than him.

Since you have only just purchased the car I am thinking that you may not have had the Flux Capacitor checked.....it will need a service as I will lay London to a brick the complier never checked it.....Japan runs a different spec of UF octane to Aus. That will help you in the long run with your gear changing.

Also don't forget to check the oil levels in the front Star rod every 10,000Km's as most FC's tend to leak very quickly due to the TT you will be doing!

HKS make a good flux capacitor...I got mine replaced with this 2 years ago and never had a problem.

Thanks for the advise guys.. anyone know where can I get a lowering done to my V35 in melbourne area? I rang up suspension city and they didn't know about V35..

And as for the flux capacitor, I am not sure yet, as the seller told me to do another service in next 2000-3000kms.

And any place to do service for this imported car in melbourne? like decent place?

nah you need to use red back spider urine. its the only stuff that will get it cleaned.

and TRD guy, you can get the car serviced at any McDonalds. the oil they use to fry the chips, is the best oil for your motor.

I was down at the TAB this afternoon putting some money on West Coast Vs Carlton and saw that Skyichgo is running at $1.01 to wrap his nice new TRD Skyline around a tree before he is old enough to drink!

Seriously though, does anyone else think that it is crazy for a young kid who cant figure out that + goes up a gear and - goes down a gear can afford a $25,000 car??? What happened to the good ole' days where you scraped together $2000 (if you were lucky!) and bought a piece of crap that had to be bump started every cold morning???

Its nothing personal against Skyichgo, but it scares me to think that there are people driving around in these relatively high powered cars at that age. Then again I'm probably just jealous because I can imagine the amount of "you know what" he will be getting in that car when I generally had the ladies pushing the car down the street so that I could take them home lol.

Well todays generation has money its not our fault we can afford nice cars at a young age for me this is thanks to a booming IT indusrty, im 22 driving a V bought it becaus it looks VIP, realisticly if you want speed get a R34 GTT 2JZ supra or a 1JZ chaser, and in Sky's defence triptronic can be a litte daunting if you have never used it before, i took my car to a industrial area to play with it as i had NFI how to use it. He has to be old enough to drink to drive the car in most cases also as P platers cant drive them even tho i did (wasnt aware of the law change when i bought the car).
