Hello everyone !

It has been about 1 month since me and the melbna.com team decided to host a skidpan day, and we have heaps of news

We have organised insurance and the date for the event and before we confirm the booking, we need an 'OK' from our members.

The details are

Date: 9th October 2011

Location: DECA Skidpan, Shepparton, Victoria

Price: $140 (If you prebook via paypal) or $150 if you pay on the day.

Amount of Spots: 45 Cars can attend.

Passengers?: Not sure yet.

Any other requirements?

You will need an AASA licence which can be purchased on the day for $50 and lasts for 12 months.

You will also need to bring a helmet.

Event is strictly drivers and pit crew only, there isnt a grandstand for heaps of people to watch.

Course Diagrams will be up soon.

Please let us know asap if you are interested as we will be booking the event asap.

NA IMPORTS ONLY. (not hating on turbo's, just an na skidpan day.)

Thanks,

Melbna.com Managment

So what does $150 actually get you?

Are there maps, competition/trophies or is this just a simple open skidpan with basic cones?

Reason i ask is it's almost double what the SAU-Vic days cost (DECA is cheap to hire afterall) and we use the entire facility including backtrack etc.

yeah its basically just a day where we are going to set up cones to form a track to drift around. we wanted to make it as cheap as we can, but due to lack of members and amount of people wanting to participate, we had to put prices up to comphensate with venue pricing and event insurance. We are still deciding on more things to add, depending on the numbers we get. We will most likly also provide BBQ lunch.

Nah they don;t want to be beaten.

I jsut cannot see how they are aiming for 45 entries and charging 140$

Considering we do 50 entries and charge 80ish. some-one seems to be making a profit out of this.

yeah we do make a little bit of profit if all 45 spots fill. however most of the profits are used for club funding, then to hopefully make events cheaper for the furture.

we are doing it n/a only due to the fact that we are trying to promote a n/a car club.

THE DATE HAS NOW BEEN CHANGED TO 8TH OCT.

Sorry guys.

yeah we do make a little bit of profit

A little profit? :O

Do people realise you'll be making between $2000-$3000 from it??? I doubt it.

For a club that is just a website, hosted O/S... That's a lot of funding...
