nothing wrong being that height my friend........im only slightly taller than you at 175cm

I was close to your weight when I was your age at 54kg.

Im now 36 yo and weigh close to 80kg but maintain that very well by eating well (but lack exercise something chronic)

dont stress about putting on weight unless you are a professional wrestler / power-lifter it will come naturally later on.

Yeah, I used to be worried about my size & weight.. Now I just want to get ripped and wait for my metabolism to drop off. :P

I'm 31 also to add that in. When I had a good year off gym to fix injuries and just jogged daily, I dropped back to 78-79kg.

When doing weights I hover in the high 80s, some fat (I love to get my eat on) some muscle.

Being a young skinny guy sucks, some of us know first hand. So buy a fast car and make girls laugh, you'll still win. I did :)

loved doing that - would go home and eat an entire cooked chicken to myself - good ol days

I'm still doing weights so still enjoy eating, but I do eat a lot cleaner now at 31 :)

im in two frames of mind right now............I want to go back and train..........................then again I love my beer and everything thats not good for you...........so very nasty.

so train for a different purpose

hehe isnt it normally going off the rails before kids?

strangely for me it waz the opposite......stopped going to gym, eat and drink the wrong things and lost all I worked for at the gym......rather depressing TBH

just got to get back on the right path one step at a time mate

cliche time "do it for your kids"

Why wait for your metabolism to slow down? Why do you want to gain fat? You will look worse than you do now.

Start lifting compound movements and eat high protein foods to support them. The muscle will add weight to you and being thin you won't have to worry about "cutting".

gaining fat??? Slowing metabolism??? It's all part of a natural cycle that most human beings will go through because that's life.

Also, gaining fat (back then) was to bulk up to lift heavier and create more strength and muscle mass.......which was then burned up with cardio afterwards, which worked really well 4 me.

Ant why do you think they have to be exclusive?

You can lift decent weight, look decent and still eat and drink what you like.

I only see it as being the difference between looking good in and out of a shirt or just in one.

That is, when you eat what you like and train you will look decent in a shirt but not as much out of one, or you can eat really well and train and look good shirtless too.

I was a skinny kid and paranoid about being skinny so I tend to be happy with a bit of extra fat/size on me and eating what I like. At the expense of having great abs. Now I just have "ok" abs.

Thread has gotten more action today than Bird's has all year.

I used to train with power-lifters mate and a lot of strongmen (was that kind of gym) so I followed a similar diet but one that suited me with some input of the really big guys.

What was really funny is that all the big (strongmen fellows) were always awesome to watch lift stupid weights, but all them said the same thing.......................they dont look pretty naked

This is gonna sound cheesy, but I looked pretty damn good during that time - not fat, but good 80kg of lean and strong overall muscle mass - none of this Johny Bravo look.

I agree with you that you can achieve the desired results by eating and training well.

That's a good look to have in my opinion, in the 80's not too fat but with a bit of shape etc.

That's what I try for, I look good enough with a shirt off but still have shape with it in and I still eat what I like more or less (smart choices but not holding back too much on portions etc).

I have a mirror selfie floating around in my build thread a few pages back, I'm happy enough looking that way, maybe a touch leaner in ze abba dabbers.

Milk is a awesome way to get those few extra hundred calories (300) and gain weight, doesn't feel like you're eating.. cos you aint!

Love my big ass mug of milk every night

so does my 3,5 yo daughter lol (sorry couldn't help myself)

What are compound movements? Is that big weight, less reps? Or vice versa?

Ants, I know what you're saying bruv. My point was more that old mate said he can't wait until his metabolism slows down so he can gain weight...but it will be he wrong kind of weight. He can put on muscle instead and look a hundred times better and not be a 50kg rake.

Similarly to Dan, when I left school I was 62kg at 188cm, which is probably about as skinny as ZRBE is at his height. Now at 80kg, no one calls me skinny anymore and I didn't put on any fat to get there :)

ZRBE, compound movements are exercises that work more than one muscle/joint at the same time. The big three powerlifting movements, squats/deadlifts/bench are compounds. As are rows and pull-ups etc. But those big three will put on more muscle mass and build strength quicker than any other exercise particularly for a beginner. Do those properly and you will have no problem gaining weight or eating more.

    • Hi all, I’m currently running a str pipe hi low hks exhaust and downpipe. Was wondering if I change out muffler to a titanium one will it change the sound of the exhaust? Plus I have always liked the look of the titanium pipes … anyone have recommendations to one?    side note already have titanium intake pipes.
    • I looked up my other car that is a R33 GTST series 1.5. Anyone able to confirm what a Aero Form Bumper is?     (1G) 2 Door Coupe; (2GK + 11V) RB25DET; (4B) 2WD HICAS; (7F) 5 Speed Manual; (14G) Super Fine Hard Coat; (15U) Large Rear Spoiler + Aero Form Bumper + Rear Wiper (Aero Selection)
    • Ha ha, all good! I've almost caved in and realised I'm buying one.  I know myself well enough by now that I will start chasing ADHD butterflies half way through building it and not finish it so I'm better off spending the extra money buying one instead of making one just so I can get into straight away.  I would very much enjoy making one as fabrication is probably a strength and definitely a passion but I don't want that to be at the detriment to the car I'm ultimately building it for! There's some pretty good ones around for ~$1100 at the moment so I think I'll just go that way.  At the end I sell it or as mentioned, get another project to make further use of it! Thanks gents.
    • That link was very helpful thank you.
    • That is the option code, not the VIN. Regardless all of that production is considered series 2: https://gtr-registry.com/en-ecr33-vin-table.php
