I did just finish this thread I left a party to go home to read the rest.

All I can say is I have a lot off respect for you I don't even own a skyline I drive a holden vn because I'm holden guy but have a soft spot for skylines so I like reading this form and when I started reading this I couldn't stop please keep posting

Cheers Cameron :)

Scott the guard project was a great success.....it is subtle enough to not "stick out and slap you in the face" and mean enough to "create a stir".

I LOVE IT - just waiting to get the rims out a bit more and I reckon it will look wicked !!

IMO the car is looking the best it has ever done.......

Jez, agree with you that the car is looking better and better. As you've stated that though, the only thing letting in down is the rear fitment. But all things come in time and sounds like your already onto getting it changed. I think if your able to get the rears to fill the entire guard then it will look really good

And put the huge wing back on :-)

Update on the rocker cover project.....this is work in progress and trial and error so be kind ! Also this is the first coat...you have to go over them at least thrice for it to come up nice and vibrant.

Started the other one as the first one cures.....

Getting there.....stay tuned

Update:

Going to go with the current rim setup for the moment but with bolt on spacers at the back so that I can ditch this sunk look asap. Spacers have been ordered and are in the mail.

Saving again for a pair of wider meisters with lower offset and more dish which I will run on the back and swap the rears to the front. Want it to look mean  !!

Got a coilpack cover bit from Jarrad (thanks mate) and gave that a lick of high temp paint. Probably not going to do anything to that and just leave it black or its going to get too "kiddie" with too much colour. I like the way it looks at the moment even though it might seem a tad "quirky" for some. Will give it a penultimate and then a final coat before going over it with clear.

Spacers yes....well it was weird....the "package" was delivered first thing in the morning....I was expecting it so had left the door open with the flyscreen locked...I saw the van pull up and an Asian chick jump out with this mysterious object wrapped in black...she just left it outside the door and shouted "arsehole"...I was walking to the door so basically reached in time to see her rush back to the van having just called me an arsehole with this bomb on my doorstep..LOL

Turns out she must have said "household" and it wasnt a bomb it was my spacers..and she was just in a rush :P

    • Excuse me for butting in....but which part of ADHD can be considered a superpower? I would have though it far more likely that some ASD comorbidity is more likely to be contributing to an ability to hyperfocus on something. ADHD being aimed somewhat in the other direction. My shed looks like your shed. My whiteboard list of unfinished projects has entries going back 15 years. I know what you're talking about - I just struggle to connect ADHD to the results being discussed.
    • Thanks for reaching out!  It's a blessing and a curse at the same time.  I'm undiagnosed but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see it in me... I have more half started projects laying around my house, shed, garden, etc taking up space and money, destroying aesthetics than if I added up all of my mates projects together. But, ADHD gives me the ability to hyper focus on things that no mere mortal could even  comprehend.  A recent pool build is an example of that....  I dont know anyone else that would be dumb enough and focused enough to take on then complete something of that magnitude. I call ADHD a superpower but it can equally be completely destructive if not controlled and focusedon the right places. Addiction is a major concern to ADHD people and thankfully my addictions have been no worse than projects, XBOX, chocolate and being an arsehole! It's often hereditary and my 13 year old son is currently learning how to drive it at the moment. Keep lurking! If i can finally finish this bloody thing at some point it will be a win for all of us ADHD'ers! 🤪
    • I've been quietly following this thread for ages, but this one got me. Since my ADHD diagnosis (and associated learnings and prescription) I'm way less inclined to wade into forum yarns when there are better things to do with my time, as half the time I'd end up in some kind of forum debate even if that wasn't my intention. I've not lost the ADHD "superpowers", just am a lot better at directing my hyperfocus into slightly more constructive things, but haven't stopped quietly lurking in here in my spare time.
    • Stripped the tank down and gave it a good scrub. It came up really good! Not sure if I'll just put it back in like that or give it a blackening treatment (such as Bowdens The Black Box). That might give it a matte look so might just run it as is.
    • @MBS206 Ha ha, yeah ADHD is a daily battle to not get drawn in to doing things you want to do that you know you shouldn't do!  Every single time I walk into my shed I end up doing something I started the day having zero intention of doing! I keep mentioning the 1 step forward, 3 steps back scenario and I'm tipping people that are blessed with ADHD (yes, blessed) are the worst at that!
