wori
xALmon - I feel more of my time is needed to add to this growing thread (and the growing concerns I have). In no way am I trying to tell anybody what to do. I just felt the necessity to bring basic parental responsibilities to the attention of the thread starter, in this case hamiltonau. If you wish to describe myself as having large amounts of commitment, well I am fine with this. You may be wrong, you may be right. At the end of the day it is your opinion and being able to freely discuss this on a public forum is fantastic. However I am somewhat confused to the reasoning behind you trying to do this in a second language when previous posts clearly show you are far from competent in that said language. Maybe that discussion should be left for another time ...? hamiltonau - Please accept my sincerest and humblest of apologies. I feel nothing but guilt knowing that my opinion nearly brought you to the point of exploding with rage/indignation. I agree that the topic titled "the best way of raising a child" would be on a completely different forum and yes most probably not on a forum about modifying cars. I would also like you to reconsider you image of me being a "self important dick" . How can one regular forum goer (xALmon) describe me as being a hero with loads of commitment and passion, yet you cannot? I unfortunately still feel you don't fully understand your responsibilities of being a parent. Just because your ex wife owes you money this does not mean you should threaten her by suggesting you would withhold child support payments. After all this money is for your son isn't it? Sounds like you have everything on the right track though (no pun intended ) Can I also suggest before making comments in future posts / threads you think about what it is you are typing and how this may make you look. The picture you painted of yourself with certain comments made you look like a first class loser of a man / father. I am happy you have been able to move on with "the business at hand", that being the modification of your car. Lastly, if at all possible could you please help me out with all my spelling errors? In return I will help you out with missing words, spelling, grammar, word choices, general life coaching, understanding and handling criticism, anger management and ways to channel this to find inner peace. Thankyou Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/377766-best-bang-for-buck-sub-30k-skyline/page/4/#findComment-6040309 Share on other sites
hamiltonau
How much you spending on your car mate? I'm thinking of doing the same, but I'll probably just go buy an EVO VII instead as I love the twisties. All up its going to be roughly 3 and a half grand to get my RB25 to jump from 160 or so KW to 290plus KW. That includes 2.5k for the Turbo, injectors, AFM, plug in and new fuel pump. The tune is 650 and the labour will hopefully be just a few hundred..will tally it all up again once its done. Wori, thanks for the apology, was hard to tell how ironic your tone was but i will take it at face value, as for 'threatening the ex wife by withholding funds' thats another example of you misreading things, she is fine with the arrangement as its the only way she can afford to pay for sudden large bills like moving house. He will not go without food etc as her full-time job at Coles keeps him in plenty of discounted nappies, apple sauce, powdered milk and so on. .as you confirmed though, that should all be for another thread. I will attempt to be clearer in future but i like to think this is one place where i can joke around without worrying if the wowser brigade is going to jump up and down with their arms in the air at every slightly sexist/irresponsible comment.. I hope you make the right decision with your ride RB25PWR, and that means keeping the Skyline tried test driving an Evo? i have been a passenger in a VII and it felt a bit plasticky albeit very quick, surely you would miss RWD? wori
hamiltonau - good job! hope all your future car and non car related endeavors go according to plan. I agree that everyone needs some form of pleasure in their life and its sounds like you're well and truly overdue. adamskill - Not sure what kind of skill you claim to posses, It is clearly not reading nor comprehension. Hamiltonau started this thread asking for advice regarding the best way to spend his $8000 that he has saved and now wanting to spend on his R33 nissan skyline. He also mentioned he didn't want to spend all of his saved amounts and not be able to see a noticeable improvement compared to that of a standard R33 nissan skyline. Can you please focus on the request at hand instead of straying off topic Edited October 1, 2011 by wori Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/377766-best-bang-for-buck-sub-30k-skyline/page/4/#findComment-6040675 Share on other sites

RB25PWR
I hope you make the right decision with your ride RB25PWR, and that means keeping the Skyline tried test driving an Evo? i have been a passenger in a VII and it felt a bit plasticky albeit very quick, surely you would miss RWD? Yet to test drive one. Their are things I don't like about the EVO, one is the interior and the other is the rear... i'd have to throw on an EVO 8 rear end. But if you can go from 160rwkw (which is what mine is making) to 260ish for 3.5k (i'm presuming this figure is a little optimistic?) say 4k. then perhaps it's worth it. and to the guy who said if I sold my GTS-T I wouldn't get half of what's needed for an EVO. assuming I sell mine for $10k and EVO VII's are 20k. It's pretty much bang on half. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/377766-best-bang-for-buck-sub-30k-skyline/page/4/#findComment-6041841 Share on other sites
xALmoN
assuming you can sell a 33GTST for 10k. nope, you cant. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/377766-best-bang-for-buck-sub-30k-skyline/page/4/#findComment-6041855 Share on other sites
hamiltonau
yeah good luck getting more than 6k for the GtSt, at least thats what im hearing on the forums. Pretty depressing seeing as i thought 9.5k was a bargain for mine only 3 years ago..as for the EVO rears, is there that much of a difference between the VII and 8? too lazy to google it lol I may have some optimism thrown into the mix re power i will be making and the total cost of gaining said big dyno numbers but i dont think im too far off the mark. The next two weeks will reveal just how far off...stay tuned. hamiltonau
damn, im going to have to drive out there to sell mine. Would be an awesome excuse for a road trip and just fly back, im years off selling it though, specially seeing as mods are coming soon. Hope BNR34's come down to 35k by 2014 or so. Be surprised if they ever get cheaper than that, as Sean lloyd said on the Stag cruise yesterday, only 12 thousand were made and they aint making anymore. Be very surprised if they ever get as cheap as the 33GTR's! xALmoN
yes, they have to come down in price to a certain extent before they actually start appreciating. looks like i'll be getting my 34R before you do eh? patrick. Harey
Thanks for the support guys, im a sensitive little sod so it means a lot, as for the boost controller..um i will take a quick photo/video of what i mean over the wknd but essentially if i switch it off im not making as much boost so im assuming the power level drops and hence petrol consumption? Have i being doing it wrong all this time? Im not being a smart arse i simply dont know lol. Nah your right, the less boost you are running the less fuel you will use. But my point is, if you are low on petrol you shouldnt be hitting much boost if any. Does that make sense? Driving off boost, least fuel Driving on low boost, mid fuel Driving on high boost most fuel So if I want to conserve fuel for any reason I just keep it off boost. Flooring it around on low boost will still use plenty of fuel haha Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/377766-best-bang-for-buck-sub-30k-skyline/page/4/#findComment-6059510 Share on other sites
hamiltonau
oh yeah i see what you mean now, your talking about driving conservatively and therefore not actually engaging the boost much at all, saving petrol. gotchya! i do try and baby it a little when low on fuel but its hard.. Turbo FINALLY turned up at the post office this afternoon, got the pick up card so will grab it tomorrow but due to the trackday being this wknd will wait till monday to get the thing installed, so if you order one from Hypergear expect it at least 2 weeks later. just sayin.
