Hello all, my first post here, apologies for my newbness :)

I am financially fortunate enough in my mid 40's to be plannng on buying a new 2012 R35. I want delivery in March. Called my local Nissan GTR dealer for a chat and the rep said to hold off on the order since there is an update due for 2012 with stock arriving in March and AU order books opening for the updated car in October.

Anyone else heard this? Any clue as to what Nissan are adding/changing for this update?

Since am in no rush to get my R35 I am definitely leaning towards waiting for the 2012 update just to avoid buying a model which would be almost immediately superceded.

Have not yet decided between the metallic blue or the red.

Would appreciate anyone who knows what is changing for the MY12 model.

BTW, great forums, looking forward to learning lots from everyone here and sharing my R35 journey.

If they have managed to do that, it's fairly impressive; Because increasing downforce and the inflow of cooling air both increase drag.

Doing both things whilst at the same time ending up with a lower C of D is surely some kind of black magic.

Yeah true.

As the video states, Nissan have some how 'cheated' the air by reducing a small amount of drag and resulting in more down force and cooling by using Nissan's Original Aero Design Philosophy.

Defy the law of physics..?

Yes those improvements are on the Oz 2011 car already. My question specifically refers to the new updated model coming to Ausrralka in March 2012.

I would love to "jump in" but I don't actually need it until March so the timing is right for me. Thanks for the feedback!

Yes that of course makes sense :)

I'll press the rep for more info when I visit the dealer. To be honest the current R35 is all (and more) than what I need so I was mainly curious that's all.

Yeah, for sure.

I'd be interested to see what else Nissan can offer for the 2012 model.

The R35 GTR is super as it is... Guess Nissan will always have something to add on / revise in the future...

Koorby they are right. The new 2012 model will have 570hp+! Also further suspension and downforce improvements. A special Track Edition is also coming.

doubtful we'll get the track version here

we dont even get high spec here anymore

nissan aus raised the price and has given us the japan base model for 2011 - read, no more red highlight interior (which are now recaro seats) or black rooflining of the premium spec

Mizuno-san did mention a number of times at the Nissan launch at Phillip Island in March that we would get a 'track only edition' here next year.

Not sure whether Nissan Australia would be keen to bring it out, given the potentially low sales numbers.
