Thanks for that Sprinta, I still can't tell the difference, so if it's good enough to fool me, hopefully it's good enuogh to fool most people (I think they just look better anyway).

Did you have much problem putting the povo pack lights in?

actually thats quite contradicting..

look at my povo pack lights

btw i dont have the gtr grill backets on the lights either, has custom backet things made up so the grill fits

Also has anyone replaced their GTR side indicators (all orange) with the GTS ones (Clear with just a small orange indicator) before? The guy at just jap said they won't fit because of the guard.  anyone tried?

The GTS ones won't fit - GTR ones are wider to fit the guards

Arrgh! still don't know.

I think a good way to tell would be to weigh them - N1s should be lighter - otherwise why change them??

You drive an R32, right? It should be pretty obvious: the stockers are shockingly bad at like, you know, lighting the road  IIRC the N1s have better illumination.

LW.

mine didnt have that bracket it had some little metal bits with the cutouts for a bolt to hold the grill on on each corner. I just changed to projector lights today. Looking at em now the standard type lights look better on gtr's in my opinion.. still looks ok but

I got the clear indicators on my car and I was pretty sure they are the pov pack GTS4 ones.. but... they light the road up really well?

They are the standard "pov pack" indicators, and I would guess the standard GTS/4/t lights (bit hard to tell from that distance/angle).

Do you mean they light up the road well on high beam, or low beam?

  • 2 weeks later...

since thread is entitled questions

thought I'd ask here

Can someone explain how to adjust the 32GTR headlights up! mine seem to aim low, and the bulbs are sitting ok in the sockets, someone said look for 2 screws in the back ot it. found them

but when I screwed them either way they didn't do jack

pics would be great

cheers

Ronin,

That's cool, I was going to put the Povo GTS-T lights on the weekend but ran out of time.

Did it take long to get the bracket from nissan? and how much did it cost?

thanks

Michael

Hey michael, haven't actually got any from Nissan (found these pics on the yahoo japan auctions), but i would expect that if they are ex-japan, they'll take 2 weeks.

;)

Does anyone know what globes each different type take. I have 2 of the projector lights (one of which has been replaced because the glass was cracking), and the low beams use different globes (1 is a H3 and the other is a H1). Which is a better globe? I'm going to guess that the H3's are better being that they are 25 bux each to replace with a run-of-the-mill globe

Thanks,

Michael

Gday mate,

You'll have to use the same ones as the assembly was designed for because the focus point on the globes has to line up.

If they don't you get a very very very dim projection from your headlight(s).

H1 and H3 are definately not interchangable (I've tried, even when you make em fit the focus point is out of whack).

Yeah, it wasn't until after i got the replacement that i realised that the new one was H3. I pulled apart some of the assembly in an effort to swap both of them to H1, (the broken one i had was H1), but they are very different.

Basically what i want to know is which type of headlights came out with which globes so i can find a suitable replacement and match them up :P

What type of globes does everyone have, and which style headlights have you got on your 32?

:(

    • I recently got their dbw 74mm throttle body and pedal kit. It is sensational quality especially the wiring harnesses. Unfortunately I can’t answer u about the fitment to stock inlet manifold as I’m going Rahjab Racing forward plenum. Only one thing to be careful of is understand u have to pay gst and import fees if your purchase is over $1,000 in one shipment.
    • yeah i agree paint match stops it from standing out so much, oh that's actually really good to know i was wondering if it would help with air flow now actually having an outlet in the bonnet. Will have to focus on ducting into and out of the radiator now to make the most of it.
    • I would paint match the whole thing to avoid unwanted attention  I had a similar bonnet, paint matched, on my old R33 GTST, but mine was a fibreglass jobbie made by Blitz in QLD, they work extremely well for radiator efficiency and under bonnet temps
    • Does anyone run this kit with factory plenum? Does the adapter and bosch tb fit under factory strut brace? I wanted to get this setup before going forward facing manifold. Thanks
    • small update time, after always wanting a "cool" looking bonnet for my car and always struggling to find one for the series 2 that i liked and wasn't an insane amount of money. Saw one i liked on RHDjapan from D-speed in Japan the price was very good for a carbon bonnet so good infact i was a little unsure how much i trusted it, decided to bite the bullet and with the help of jesse streeter in not long at all it was at my door. Once it was delivered i ran in from work and quickly unboxed it and to my surprise the quality was actually pretty good i quickly removed the old bonnet and placed on the new one to test it out and even the fitment wasnt too bad at all. Then decided to paint the little grille in the bonnet black to stop it sticking out so much.   I decided to not mess around with the hood latch and just install some aero catch hood pins, having never installed them before did some YouTube university classes and i was good to go. fair to say it is not a fun job at all from making brackets so the pins sit nicely and actually cutting through the bonnet but also being very scared of cutting the holes too big it took wayyyy longer than i would like to admit but finally got it there. Then it was time for a quick test drive to ensure the latches actually worked and thankfully the bonnet looked very stable. I still think paint matching the bonnet and leaving just the part that sticks up as carbon would help make it all look alot neater as im not sure how i feel about all that carbon on a very fridge white car but will leave it as is and see how i feel with time.
