Title says it, I went overseas for a month and the car was left in the back yard with a tarp covering the entire car. My sister left the magnetic p plate on the back and every day the heat produced must of welded the damn thing to the boot.

I've managed to get a minor part of it off on a fairly warm day.

Any suggestions? Warm water? Hair dryer? Any chemicals I could use to remove it without damaging the paint?

Will upload pics tomorrow :(

Thanks in advanced :)

I would think as you have suggested - but no experience with this kind of thing, worst case scenario is repainting the boot lid so I suggest see what else gets suggested and give it a go. Good luck.

Bug and tar off fishing wire and a heat gun and alot off patience and beer needed for this job ive done it many a time to ex gfs cars lol since there mistakes ive now changed back to the good old plastic ones lol

Dental floss, because it's waxed and flatter than fishing wire.

+1

BTW does the company that makes those "Magnetic P" plates have a disclaimer (or at least a warning) against damaging a car?

Sigh, I presume you'd have to start the legal process in China > get nowhere fast.
