Hi all

A friend has a 2001 V8 X5 with some cheap cat back exhaust system on it and yet this thing sounds real nice, way better than Holden V8, sounds much more like a tight true performance euro v8 sort of thing. Surprisingly it goes alright too, for a 2.5ton car that is.

Anyway, i start doing some online research on them and have found that there are a lot of heating and transmission issues with the Overseas models but could hardly find anything regarding to the local delivery.

Anyone here owns one or know a thing or two about these X5's? Not the current sexy model but around 2001 - 2004, the E39 or something like that.

Cheers

My old man has one of these, never misses a beat. It had its 100k service recently, Ive driven it - has a fair bit of poke for a tank. The only thing I dont like about it is that it that you cant take it to the beach. V8 shopping trolley imo.

There are a lot of aftermarket/OEM parts available for all BMW models. Take the E36/E39/E46 3 & 5 Series for example.....
