anyone know where i can get BC Racing BR replacement damper shocks from?

I've looked on BC racing australian website and they list for $79 ea, ive emailed them a few times with no response and rang the number only for it to ring out.

quick search on google brings up that americans get their dampers replaced for under $100 each. I've rang justjap and they want $170 per shock replacement which sounds a little rich comparing to prices on BC-Australia's website and and what the americans pay.

any help much appreciated.

Might i ask why it needs a replacement? Iv got BC's n interested to hear any comment on their reliability and what can make em fail...

So far loving mine tho... No problems whatsoever

i got quoted around $170 for replacement shock, easily available. Front passenger was knocking, confirming by swapping out with other struts then swapping sides....but....it went away, without needing to do anything...? Still going strong so far so good. Have had them for about 2 1/2 years now.

Cool, thanks for that.

Have you tried a drop of oil on the shock shaft? It should lube the internal rubber seal and stop the noise you are hearing.

Whoa, nope, never thought of that! Will any type of oil do (e.g. engine oil)? I'll definitely give that a go, thanks Scotty.

Ps. Replacement inserts are $175 in case anyone else is looking. I just got one ready to go in.

I prefer liquid lubes, and have used teflon pushie chain lube with success, anything would work though as I doubt one drop of synthetic oil would damage the seal.

Thanks, I'll try one of those and report back :)

I sprayed the damper shaft with a bit of silicone spray lubricant from WD-40. It's fixed the squeak but the shock is still making a scuffing noise, so I'll be replacing it.

Back on topic, make sure you get the right lenght insert if you order a replacement for your BC BR's. My original shock body is 360mm and the new insert is only 340mm so now I have to send it back to get the correct one, grrr.
