Hi, im in the process of putting a worked rb25det into my r33 skyline since it has bigger cams im going to need a tune and im just wondering if i am able to have this tune done just by using my standard computer?

if not what are you suggestions?

And if anyone could let me know some good places that aren't overly expensive and trustworthy to get this dyno tune done around Sunshine Coast/Brisbane area that would be great also :)

Thanks

the stock r33 ecu can't be tuned without modifying the ecu. very few people/tuners can do this. so you either have the option of putting in a full aftermarket ecu such as a powerfc, or using a different ecu such as a r32 or z32 ecu with a nistune daughterboard. both will require a full tune though, so expect to pay a minimum off roughly $1000 for nistune and the tune, and about double that for a powerfc and tune.

This also depends on your gearbox...supposidly the power fc (if you chose to use that) cant be used with auto boxes. IMO i would go a full aftermarket ecu like a Haltech or a Stinger EMS...there is a awesome dyno place in brissy called STZ automotive...they build great motors and are (in my experience) very helpful and informative...there is another place called RPM performance and dyno that i know are good in Morayfield. Another shop in Brissy is APC...they build some nice cars as well...It's all about how much money your going to spend really and how far your willing to travel to get the work done :)

If getting Nistune with R32 board, you also need a VCT controller yes?

you can run an auto with a PFC, it just won't be as smooth on gear changes as the stock ecu

sort of, yes. you can run it without the VCT being activated though.
