Thanks to Nick, Terry and all the execs for their efforts in making a great day. Thanks to the Sponsors, photographers and other Skyline drivers for coming out to play.

Had a great time meeting and greeting people. Loved the seeing the line of stags off in the distant. I also feel very humble my stag was picked for a prize, thanks judgesblush.gif

We only got a couple of happy snaps before the camera died but here is a traffic jam I was happy to be in worship.gif

^ ^ ^ yes that's right.

It's owned by "numleg" aka Tom who's currently away.

Serviced and tuned by JapLink > stored there atm.

I must say that even if 4 other Stageas which were due to arrive, did arrive, the current prizewinners fully deserved those TSI awards!!!

The 2012 Show 'n Shine will need to have a full section made up of Stageas now eh?

If all the Stageas got dirty on the 15th Anniversary Cruise before the judging, we were going to ask you all to "pop your fuel flaps" to see if you cleaned inside - LOL

Hehe....

numleg's Autech RS I drove has my previous BNR34 VS2 turbos in it. And the car they came from was there on the cruise too.

Perhaps the Stag guys can make up their own table of 10 at Legends Night to see Fred Gibson & Jim Richards speak? = STAG TABLE?

Hey guys! Turns out I had an SAU account from a long time ago

Here are my photos from the day

I took a photo of each Stagea as they cruised past to go do the group photo.

So I'm pretty sure I have photos of every car that was there for the day!

Here are links to them on my Facebook Photography Page:

Hey Tom - was great to meet you on the day and also check out some of your work on the PC.

Awesome pics mate. ^^^ is my new wallpaper  You should post these in the October Thread in the Photography section too.

Glad that all the Stagea guys seemed to have a great day out - goes to show the weather can't put a 'dampener' on things when you've got good cars and company.

Thanks, same to you! And I will definitely post up some in the photography forum. Time for me to try and get a name for myself haha.. Like Matt and I agreed on, whoring ourselves out is a great thing to do. And doing that with Photography too is even better! ;) hahaha..

Do you want me to send you a high res copy of that photo for your wallpaper? :)

If so, PM me your email address and I'll fire that off to you when I get a chance!

Alright, while I was finishing up the article tonight, I was going through my HyperRev catalogues to get some finer details to add in, and I noticed something...

The Nissan Stagea was first released on 3 October, 1996.

Our 15th Anniversary cruise was held on 2 October, 2011.

That is only 1 day short of an EXACT 15 year anniversary!!!

Terry, did you plan this and plant the date in my head sub-conciously??? :whistling:

amazing stuff Tom, very very Jelly.

oh and nice work keeping your watermark nice and subtle, some guys go OTT and its distracting from the actual subjects of the photo...Terry, keep us posted on the mag. Nick T is writing the article?

Thanks to all the organisers and people involved in this event it was great!!!

if you would like high res pic's of your car PM me ur email addy and i'll send them through :)

cheers, Theo

Pic's are here

amazing stuff Tom, very very Jelly.

Nick T is writing the article?

Agreed, good work Tom!

And yep, I'm doing it, but my mind is failing me, so anyone who won a prize on the day, could you please send me a PM with your name (just your first name is fine if that's all you want - your choice), what prize you won and what for.

Oh, and if you know someone who won a prize and you know that they don't get on the forums much, please pass their details on to me (with their permission, of course) or let them know to contact me. Need those last few details for the article.

Thanks!

Hi all pretty cool to see that we had such a great turn out, I'm sad i missed it (was OS) but very glad my car could make it and was so well apreciated as i consider it to very much be a work in progress, body work and assthetics to be fixed up and a few more mechanical changes to be made.

I have posted a full list of mechanical mods and power output in the RB26 Dyno thread if any one is interested.

Cheers

Tom

    • Hey guys I’m chasing a Rb20det complete or bare block need a good running engine as mine has low comp
    • You're making my point for me. 95 is not "premium". It is a "slightly higher octane" version of the basic 91 product. The premium product that they want people to buy (for all the venal corporate reasons of making more profit, and all the possibly specious reasons of it being a "better" fuel with nicer additive packages) is the 98 octane stuff. 95 is the classic middle child. No-one wants it. No-one cares about it. It is just there, occupying a space in the product hierarchy.
    • 98 and 95 have to meet the same national fuel standards beside the actual RON.  91 has lower standards (which are quite poor really), so 95 is certainly not 91 with some octane booster. It would be an easier argument to claim 98 is just 95 with some octane boosters. Also RON doesn't specify 'quality' in any sense, only the octane number.  Anything different retailers decide or not decide to add to their 95 or 98 is arbitrary and not defined by the RON figure.
    • Anyone know alternatives to powerplus tungsten? Can't find an alternative online.
    • 95 is just a scam outright. 98 is the real "premium" with all the best detergents and other additive packages, and at least historically, used to be more dense also. 95 is just 91 bargain basement shit with a little extra octane rating. Of course, there's 91 and there's 91 also. I always (back in the 90s early 2000s) refused to put fuel in from supermarket related fuel chains on the basis that it was nasty half arsed shit imported from Indonesia. Nowadays, I suspect that there is little difference between the nasty half-arsed shit brought in by the "bargain" chains and the nasty half-arsed shit brought in by the big brands, given that most of it is coming from the same SEAsian refineries. Anyway - if there's still anything to that logic, then it would apply to 95 also. 98 is only made in decent refineries and, as I said, is usually the "premium" fuel, both in terms of octane rating and "use this because it's good for your engine because it's got the unicorn jizz in it!".
