GreddyGo
Hey guys, Before I get blasted for not searching, I have tried on this forum, google as well as flicking through the R32 service manual. Couldn't find what I was looking for. My question is quite simple. I have a R32GTR that is being stripped out, and I have located a number of ECU's installed in the boot & drivers side rear quarter panel (rear passenger panel.) It would be nice if someone could please advise what these computers are used for 1. ECU Installed Rear drivers side 2. 2 x ECU's installed underneath rear parcel shelf. I'm assuming I have an HICAS & an Altessa ECU. But what's the third for?? Another quick question, If my HICAS has been removed, so I need to keep the steering wheel sensor on the column? Or is it linked into the ALTESSA system also. Thanks guys!! Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/378910-r32-gtr-computers/ Share on other sites

I'm assuming I have an HICAS & an Altessa ECU. But what's the third for?? ALTESSA's are usually found on the back of shtbox Commodores. HICAS on drivers side, amplifier for radio antenna in the middle, ATTESSA on the passengers side. Another quick question, If my HICAS has been removed, so I need to keep the steering wheel sensor on the column? Or is it linked into the ALTESSA system also. The sensor is not linked to the ATTESSA system - look at the schematic on p CH66 on the manual. MrStabby
1. ECU Installed Rear drivers side Fuel pump related stuff Yep. Fuel pump control module - its what brings the power feed to the pump down to 9V at idle, by switching in a soft earth (that is, an earth connection via a resistor). I've had two fail on me, so i'm running a direct earth now.
