Whp Expectations Rr581 Set-Up ?

I wanted to get some opinions from those who had experience with these units.. basically i'm running a pair of newly rebuilt RR581's, on a fresh built R33 motor with all basic upgrades.. downpipe,injectors, fmic, filter, z32 mafs, tomei dumps, cams, and slightly higher compression, however not by much only by a point or so..

Since we only have 91 octane here car will be tuned to max on pump gas and leave room to turn up boost higher with race gas.. any ideas what I may expect?? ball park?

Same as everyone else really - a laggy 450-500rwhp. Will be boost/tune dependant based upon tuner decision etc.

yep will be a bit laggy but will come on pretty hard and feel quick

91 octane fuel is goin to be ur biggest power killer

tks Gents! Why do you say laggy? They seem like rather small twins.. slightly bigger than stock.. I'm sure it cant be laggier than a single set up?

91 will definitely be the biggest problem so we shall see what kind of numbers it turns up.. the set up is an S13 chassis with a freshly rebuilt rb25 trans..

They are laggy because they are a design from the 1980's.

Their wheel combination isn't great at all compared to a new gen turbo like a Garrett -5

Yeah, running 91 I would say about 400/450whp max, but as has been said, you won't see much power under 4500 at absolute best.

Fuel isn't a major issue. OP is US, fuel is measured differently.

US 91 = 95 RON in Aus

It's not 98 but still tuneable for good power levels
