The last 304 3 inch 90's I bought were $25 each.

I usually lobster my bends but the Brobo I have wont cut bigger than 3.5 inch. I have a couple of big power systems to make soon and would have to get mandrels for it but how the hell do people clear speed humps with over 100mm of pipe hanging under the car? I think I will instead make oval tubing, say 3 x 6 inch, hopefully the owners will agree...

Hey guys

got the GTR goin into the exhuast within the next couple of days and trying to get a figure on how much i should be paying...

the set up is a single high mount borg warner on a twinscroll manifold

Basically the work i need done is a

4 inch v-band dump pipe to the cat

plumb the two wastegates into the exhuast

setting up the plumbing from compressor side of the turbo to the intercooler

im guessin stainless will be the way to go?

any input is welcome

cheers

The guy they use is really good, so dont stress over that.

I'd go stainless, it's more costly but when it comes to GTR's the phrase "Do it once, do it right" always springs to mind

You didnt do very well in maths at school right? Double? Lol

For example a 90 3" mandrel in ss is 3 times the price of ms.

Please post pics of the completed job so we can all drool.

Yeah they cost about $35-$40 if you buy them at a wholesaler

Retail somewhere about $60 ofr a 90 bend

If you can provide me details of your stainless pipe supplier I would greatly appreciate it. I'm clearly paying too much from Tubesales. I only buy small quantities but if you can get them at half the price then it would be worth my while getting them freighted up here. I do a fair bit of custom exhaust work here.

Just finished a 4inch full system on a 34GTR. He supplied the manifold and gate etc and it uses that flexible stuff you guys are talking about. Looks like rows hooked into each other. Seems to work pretty well and the heat coating we had done didn't affect it negatively and its strength is good too. Makes wastegate plumbing very easy.

For other options, we use a 2inch flexible bellows - they are like a braid outer with a spring inside to bend. Makes aligning Vbands a sexual experience

wow when i get the stainless bends of my mate ( not sure of the supplier it was only 10-20 dollars dearer then MS ?) 304 grade ? anyway my friend has the flexi tubing on the end of his wastegate pipe so he can plumb it in or leave it vent to the atmosphere works great and excellent idea!!

Well thats it isnt it.. definatly dont want the job to look like sh!t and i dont wanna have to come back and do it again

Do u know the name exhaust shop they use Steve? have u delt with them before?

Ill go the stainless cause i will be happier with the look no doubt

will be asking about this flexible hose as well Dan
