Hi guys,

Its time for me to get a family sized car as my 2nd car in Tokyo. Ideally I would love to get a Porsche Cayenne GTS but I need comfort in knowing I can sell it in Aus. The only other vehicle that comes even close (and it isnt anywhere close) would be the Skyline Crossover. I also considered the Infinity FX50 but they are all LHD here.

I dont think the Crossovers are imported that much into Aus but could be wrong. Anyone seen them for sale and can let me know at what price or links? Assuming I get one and send it back to Aus, would there be a strong interest in them as a personal import?

Your comments are appreciated.

Thanks.

Get a Porsche Cayenne as there is no trouble selling cars like that especially with the amount of high end Euro cars coming out of the UK.

I just pitted a 2008 997 and before it was even registered I had guys I know hitting me up to see if the owner wanted to sell.

At least the Cayenne doesn't look like a Hyundai.

Beat me to it Chris. Fabcar have them but they aint that cheap.....The one on their site is $129,000 but they had another one when I was in there last week that was around $150,000 from memory. They have been imported from England so they also have the full english system, which is an obvious advantage over the Japanese imports.

I have never seen one on the road over here though which is a good thing in my book but obviously no good for resale as noone will know what it is. There are plenty of Porsche Cayenne's over here so that would be an advantage for resale.

Thanks for the comments. I couldn't find any on the Fabcar website for 129k but saw one for 69k. That is also showing a Japanese. I am actually considering the crossover not FX but still, I can't see anyone buying one of those for 129 or 150!

You're thinking of the FX, OP is talking about the EX which, as a Skyline Crossover, would a good deal cheaper, but still not cheap. I'd be curious to know what Fabcar think the compliance is worth...

Alkatraz.. Why the mean post man?? Your post implies that west Australian workshops charge too much money to do the same thing someone else will do for half the cost.

What gives???

That's slander man.

I bet that the next thing you're gonna say is how they whinge n moan all day about how people that work over east aren't as good as the ground they walk on and that 6k is not a just cost!!!

You're so mean.

Correct on point A. Everyone in Western Australia charges too much money for everything. PERIOD.

I dont follow what you're saying on point B.

wut has this car got that a murano doesnt ?

pls enlighten me

Dont know what the difference is but I am sure they are similar. I looked at both and they are terrible to be honest. Cheap and nasty, reminding me of why I liked the Porsche. I still want to look at the built of an infinity FX in person and hope its close to the GTR but doubt it will be. They are all also quite smaller inside and out and dont have the presence of a Cayenne on the road.

    • I much prefer that to an actual oil pressure issue, never would of thought it would of been a volt drop issue but SAU brains win again. Guess ill be turning down the oil pressure limit for the track and hunting some grounds. Ill hopefully update this thread with some high oil pressure and solid ecu voltage logs.
    • You've just discovered a really good reason to tell yourself, yes, I do need to buy an aftermarket ECU. Put the MAF in the bin. Slap in the new ECU and have a think about what turbo sounds you prefer.  Do you want a 90's style BOV wooosh? Do you want a hektik tsututututu?  Mate, can't go wrong. Just gotta get that ECU and the world is your oyster.
    • Hi. Iam just curisou about this topic. I saw this video. It is about Greddy Type FV2. I know that BoVs are about that sound but how and when to use it? I read some topic here and from what i have understand on stock RB with MAF there will be some "problems" if you use this BoV? It vents the air in to the atmosphere and the MAF on stock car needs this air back in to the intake and not out? Or is it wrong? If so...i saw you can put some adaptor to circule air back...but does that not "loose" that sound? I saw another BoV from Turbosmart and it has two "exhaust" like ports? One is for the stock tubing for letting air back and one is for "sound" and let the air in the atmosphere? Can someone please explain? This is the Greddy one:  And this is the Turbosmart.     THANK YOU!! EDIT: So i read about this topic some more and i if i understand that correctly: That Greddy can function either like BoV or 100% Bypass valve? And that Turbosmart is what they called hybrid so you can adjust what and how many air can be vented out or back in? Is this right? THX!
    • That dirty voltage drop is the culprit I suspect
    • i cant get them all in 1 screenshot unfortunately as i just dont know how to move things around tbh, but they are all from the same log and the line crosses at the same point for all of them
