VLT gearbox vs RB25DET gearbox

Well I am now in a predicament that an "RB25DET" gearbox i purchased is actually a rebuilt VLT gearbox. The guy who sold it to me has stated it will hold just as much power as a RB25DET gearbox so I am asking the collective minds of SAU.

Can a VLT box handle over 500rwhp, is it as strong/smooth as an RB25DET box? I've done a search but couldnt find anything which does a comparison between VLT and RB25DET boxes..

Im under the impression that the vlt box has a mx71 or similar code, and isnt the same Mark. Time to get angry, because from what ive been told they are a little weak.

Well I talked to fabs this morning he reckons will be more than strong enough, but I figured i'd see what other peoples views on this are?

End of day he knows i'm comming to qld and if it breaks, he's getting it personally delivered to him to fix

not as nice a box to use as the 25 box, i thought the mx box only has single synchros as well?

If you bought an RB25DET gearbox and it turns out it isn't one You should return it and get your money back. As far as I can see you've been ripped off!!!

It simply wont be as nice/smooth... or last as long an an un-cracked RB25 box.

whether 'claimed' to hold the same or not. I wouldnt wanna be the one to find out

VLT boxes break at about 200kw.. ( when i say break i mean not realiable ). i have modified plenty of my own VLT's they are good cars but the boxes arnt . use it till you start boosting your car .
