Ok so I've been servicing my car and the spark plug in cyl 5 wouldn't go in straight, still won't go in straight and I deserately need to be able to use the car tonight to get to my parents place. If someone is able to get a thread tapping kit or whatever to fix the threads and assist me in fixing it up it would be greatly appreciated. I can pay for your help.

Please anyone

My number is 0407891750 In Reservoir so prefferably someone in the northern suburbs or someone who doesn't

Cheers,

Michael

can you get your finger in there to see if anything is stuck to the thread?

Theres either something in there, the last plug was cross threaded, the plug your putting in has something wrong with it or your just doing it wrong.

Please tell me you screwed it in by hand the first 2 turns and didn't just use the socket from the get go for the new plugs. If you did do that then you might have a problem. Can't see thread f**king up when just removing plugs. Normally a poblem caused by putting them back in

That is the worst case scenario, if you really need the car tonight you could try forcing it back in straight and see if it seals, after all if it was Cross threaded the already needs to come of to hella coil it properly

You can try cleaning the thread with a wire brush or, what I do to clean my threads regularly is roll up a thin piece of scourer and twist it inside the thread...usually makes it looser to install new plugs. Really though, I'd ditch what you're doing or borrow a car and tackle it another time. If you rush it you may not succeed, which leaves you stranded AND with a rooted head.

I ended up changing my plans and buying a tap that collapses so that it comes through the bottom and cleans the thread u to the top. No removing the head and helicoil bullshit and no metal in the cylinder. Should get here monday, borrowed a car for the meantime.
