Hey guys,

so recently my car has started overheating and only had my major service done 6months ago which I put a new water pump in and had the radiator flushed and so on..

Last week got my new clutch put in n since then been over heating :( doubt it would have an input on over heating lol

But thermostat seems to be opening normally but oil temp jumps to about 110 normal driving n my water temp sky rockets almost 140 :( Also noticed on idle oil pressure sits at bout 2kg/cm2 maybe a fraction under thought it sat a little higher on idle?

anyone know what it could possibly be..

may be that your radiator is blocked (doing a flush won't help this, would need to be professionally cleaned or a new radiator).

it may also be that while your thermostat is opening at the right temp, it simply isn't opening far enough. i'd start with a new thermostat and then go from there.

Does it overheat on the highway or more around town in traffic ?

A fairly easy way to test your radiator for blockages is to take it out, boil the jug, turn the radiator on its side and fill it up with hot water. Then place your hand all over the fins and feel for any cold spots.

My car was overheating on the highway which meant i had a flow problem which was either water pump or blocked radiator. Turns out my radiator was about 50% blocked.

I tried my best to clean it out and i did get alot of crap out of it but not enough, it was still fairly blocked.

I got myself a second hand factory radiator off a member here for $50,, no blockages,, beautiful.

yeah flushing a radiator does little to tell you if it's blocked. the build up that blocks it isn't easily shifted. you could liken it to degreasing an engine using just plain water (and not a pressure cleaner). proper radiator flushes don't do much either. using the same analogy, they are like using a weak degreaser. they will take off any light oil, but won't do anything to the baked on grease (now it's starting to sound like a dishwasher detergent ad)

Also check you bottom radiator hose if it is to old and gone soft not hard it

could be sucking itself together blocking the radiator had it happen to my
