Just trying to understand how much am I losing, gaining, if I go with ATTKD instead of DBA 5000's - my original rotors are warped, and I might as well go the 2-piece route.

ATTKD 2-piece ones are $499

(+shipping) on justjap site, presume for a set, and DBA's are quite a few $ more.

Are DBA 5000's worth the extra money.

Is it hard to find replacement parts for ATTKD's? DBA replacement parts are fairly easy to find.

Any feedback would be great.

Cheers

I'd be grabbing the ATTKD over the 5000's. Something to think about is the new DBA4000 design, iirc they will be around the same price as the ATTKD and can't see them being any better.

So I'd get the ATTKD.

I'm using the ATTKD / KSPORT / G4 / D2 330mm rotor

What are you using the car for??

If it's predominately a street driven car go with an ordinary single piece rotor. Under your foot your not going to notice any difference from a base model RDA to a 5000 series DBA.

Well, I'm basically using it to fill the empty space in the garage, but I do a track day or two. Hoping to do all the SAU-Vic rounds next year, so could see some use for the 5000's, otherwise I'd go for the 4000's.

Thanks for the advice John, considering the pace you do guess those ATTKD's are not bad at all then!!!

I recently converted my front end brakes to ATTKD 8 spots & 356mm rotors & can't fault them what so ever . Great on the road , great on the track with no break fade what so ever . For the price i think they are great value for money :)

If you do end up deciding to just go the 4000 series, we've got 9 pairs of front slotted to suit in stock that we're doing on special at the moment, $184.80 per rotor.

need 18's for that setup - otherwise I could run them in the future.

I have 19's on mine , so i have no problems with clearance . Your right though 18 are the minimum with the 356mm rotors :) I have the Attkd 8 spots up front , with standard 2 spots at rear with Dba t slot rotors & project mu pads. Also got braided lines all way round , cusco master cylinder stopper & Motul Rbf 600 brake fluid . This setup is fantastic & have no brake issues what so ever !

Well, I ended up getting a set of ATTKD's 2 piece rotors, DBA mucked me around a bit, took more then 3 weeks since I put an order in and they still couldn't tell me if and when I'll receive them so I cancelled the order...................but funny thing happened with my original rotors - they don't feel warped any more, even when I brake really hard they feel smooth just like before. hmmm, funny that ey, so I decided to leave them on the car for a while and I'll swap to those ATTKD's later - its not bad having a spare set of rotors on the bench.

You guys reckon they'll just warp as soon as they get hot again or they may be ok for a while longer?

Damn, I didn't knew about these... let say, I start learning how to lap next year, would the DBA 4000 still be fine or should I go ATTK right away?

Anyone tried the AMS rotor?

I would keep the original rotors on, until they crack or warp, and just fit the car with good brake pads, and really good brake fluids. Your old discs are probably very good, they would have gone through the heat cycle many times and will be better then some brand single piece disc.

I used original rotors with DS2500 and RBF600.

was also looking at the comparison as i hae the DBA5000's on atm and considered the difference against the ATTKD branded ones. have spoken to Justjap and theyve told me its technically same as the D2/k-sport/taiwanese-made gear, just with a japanese company branding on it with the workshop's consent.

    • I figured out what’s wrong. It’s something to do with the high beam wire short circuiting. When I measure the continuity with a multimeter on the headlight socket connector it gives me a continuous beeping noise when I put it on the ground socket and also on the high beam socket.  On the passenger side of the car (working side), it’s only beeping when the probe is on the ground socket. Which makes sense.  So that means it has something to do with the high beam power supply for the drivers side. How do I trace that? Is it the turn signal lever malfunctioning? The one that also controls the high beam and low beams.

    • But if I smoke test 5th cylinder it’s all ok, no leaks  when I try with 2nd it’s leaking exhaust and intake, it doesn’t come from oil dip stick.    so maybe when car was running poorly, rich or sth. Spark plugs were black and covered in charcoal or sth lookalike. could potential contamination make valves not seal properly? is there also a possibility that rb’s don’t have equal performing cooling passages  meaning back of the engine will be hotter than front. Can this cause improper wear if engine was running under load for short time? Or carbon build up could just burnt from 4-6 and is still on 1-3?   I out of my head like really. Timing is as manual crank-exhaust 47, exhaust-intake 38 at this point I thinking about give it a try and make another 500-1000km and check if anything change, if not I will most likely disassemble engine head /or whole engine and send it back to rebuild. It’s killing me
