my ps3 had the flashing light of death.

Put it in the oven for 5 minutes, let it cool down and it worked

Some chump at the markets wanted $200 and wouldnt guarantee it would work

(ps3 gets the red flashing light of death because the cpu overheats and detaches from the motherboard. Putting it into the oven remelts the solder and bridges the connection)

Bike update, bought a sick helmet today, gloves too. Just finished re-fitting the stock pipe and aids fender (should be illegal due to hideousness), went ghetto on the fender but should pass the roady tomorrow, then it's straight off

Xbox has the same problem, CPU and GPU heatsinks don't stay clamped down enough and vibrations + heat make the components seperate from the motherboard over time. You can also fix an Xbox by putting it in the oven, but it doesn't always work and you can easily damage the other components on the MB. It fixed my mate's Xbox, though afterwards, his Xbox would occasionally freeze with intense graphic gameplay. Ash's mate reckons $85 but not guaranteed to fix...they use a rework station though which is much safer than ye olde oven lol.
