My friend has one on order and he said he would kick himself if a turbo one comes out soon after buying his BRZ. I'll make sure he sees this article.

It certainly wouldn't be coming to Australia next year even if for some reason that article were true, so he doesn't have much to worry about. The BRZ coordinator said there's no plans for a different model next year, they're just releasing STI parts to add on. None are engine related.
