lol should probably get that off my sig. Haven't used that domain for almost 5 years.

I come seeking wasteland advice on a neighborly dispute I'm currently having.

Myself and a friend moved into an apartment about 4 months ago and we noticed that the people who live above us often empty buckets of water onto the floor of their balcony, which quickly seeps through the floor and ends up on our belongings. ($200 barbeque, $300 furniture set & an $800 wooden foosball table imported from Italy.)

There have been a few occasions when we were outside and they have done this and our stuff and ourselves have gotten wet. We have tried to yell out to them to ask them to stop, but here's the catch... They are deaf.

Last night after being out with some friends I came home at about 2am and there was water going everywhere all over our balcony. All of our stuff was getting really soaked. At this point I wrote a note saying "Hello, could you please stop emptying your water onto our balcony? It is damaging our belongings that are below you. Thank you." and put it under their door.

This morning I had a note under my door saying "Hi, sorry, it's our toddler's little pool used during heatwaves. Move your things in a bit! If it was lashing rain, same thing would happen! We only did it twice and we only empty the pool over night so take your things inside or move stuff further."

The thing is it has not been hot for days, our balcony is tiny so we can't move stuff over and I can't take the foosball table apart to fit it through the door every time they decide to empty a pool onto us. I have a feeling that if I try talk to them in person they will ignore us because they are deaf and not very friendly. I have a feeling that if I write another letter explaining I can't simply move our stuff and it has not been wet when it has been lashing rain it may start a cat fight.

How would fellow wastelanders deal with this same situation?

i'd probably draw a dick and balls on a piece of paper and nail it to their door and throw a bucket of water under there

I say ep 2, but I meant ep 12 :P.

I used to watch it before it was cool! /hipster

Best part of when I discovered the show though, was the fact it's while all the other 'main' shows (standard sitcoms) are taking a break

Pisscus under their door (Google it)

Suits. One the greatest shows ever.

And yes its public watchable, its not rude/nude... Just office sexy with a few of the minor characters.

I tried watching Shameless at the gym on the treadmill 24" touchscreen things and it's awkward when you're panting and sweating profusely while watching the Emmy Rossum banging... everyone.

Immature approach: Start a fire on your balcony, high enough that smoke/flames pass through/up onto theirs. The choking/burning will soon make them write a note to you. Then tell them to just move their kiddy pool inside, cause it's only for really cold nights...and hell...if your place caught fire, then theirs would get scorched anyway.

Mature approach: Speak to your body corporate, assuming you have one. Oh and play loud subtitles at 3am, they'll quickly get the hint.

    • Hey @Butters, did you end up getting this clutch in ? I have just ordered to a uniclutch track to go in my getrag 6 speed that’s in my BNR 32
    • I know you don't want to hear this comment, but I can't not say it.  I just can't see 200kw being worth the time and effort. Its like guys with NA cars, putting in headers/exhaust/tune for a massive 20% jump in power. Great, the slow car is still slow and you're down $10,000.  My vote is leave it NA or price in a gearbox upgrade and shoot for at least 300KW, preferably 350KW+.  Now you have a NC that will try to kill you from time to time and will be exciting to drive
    • Ah yep. The main message I want to pass on is, try not to get scared of ghosts when thinking about knock/knock detection.  What I mean is, healthy engines make noise. Knock is also noise. Your knock sensor and ECU combo are trying to determine bad noise from good noise based on how loud the noise is. The factory knock sensors and ECU are not good at doing this.  Modern ECU's are pretty decent at it, however I'd still say that you would want to verify that if your ECU says it's knock, that you actually listen to it and confirm that it is correct.  Are you familiar with the plex knock monitor?  https://www.plex-tuning.com/products/plex-knock-monitor-v3/ I expect you're the type of person that would be very keen to play with something like this. It is great knock detection and you can pop some headphones on and listen to what's going on.  Knock that you've deliberately induced in low load low RPM areas is not really putting anything at risk and is a great tuning/learning/verification tool.  I just thought this was worth mentioning based on the way you were talking about setting up a base map and the Haltech base map settings. There are better ways to spend your time then chasing ghosts and worrying about detonation in scenarios that it is crazy unlikely to encounter it.  I was also wondering, what ECU are you planning to get? Will it be long til you pick it up?
    • This came quicker than I thought. It ain't even 2025 yet.
    • I somehow quoted my post instead of editing it. I regret nothing.
