you can remove the pump and open it up to check it out. there is a guide on the evo oz site that shows you what you need to clean up, as long as you reassemble it with a bit of grease everywhere it should help avoid corrosion which warps the plates and causes them to fail.

the reason mine is so bad is because the motor went, if it wasnt for that i would just pull it apart and clean it up, had i known earlier it would be this bad to fix and how easy it is to destory the motor.
