Take them out and be done with em, looks better anyway. Just keep em as spares in case cops have a problem with it.

The sides of my front bar have a bit of flex without them in, the flap a little at speed... Also I want something there to protect the oil cooler core, so it doesn't get damaged by the rocks thrown at it by the drivers wheel.

dirt goes every where in the engine bay in the door sills, it gets to a point that it scratches paint when you open doors..

I've seen it on heaps of cars when i roll the guards..

replace them, and add cable ties so they CANT come off.

I wouldn't pull the rear ones off, as they do stop crap getting in the door sill, but the front are fine to clear out. My engine bay is far from filthy and I've had them removed for nearly 3 years. Have driven some dirty ass roads too.

I believe it would happen on other cars, but the R33 Skyline is pretty insulated from crap getting in the engine bay that way. With that front guard lining removed, the worst you'll get is some dust on your intercooler piping and the loom inside the fender.

I just couldn't be fked sorting out castor and all that jazz to stop tyres from slowly burning through the guard linings at deca etc. No more scrubs for me...I don't want no scrubs...

Grant somehow, no guard roll has rub that sounds absolutely horrid on full lock but in like a month and a half has only managed to make the plastic a little bit shiny o.O

My 34 is a mystery thing...

Fuel gauge broken for 3 days and it works fine yesterday and today.

yeh fair enough..

the 200sx was a pain when i took out the fronts for the flare dirt got in every single place you could see..

i ended up putting them back and using a hot knife and carving as much as I could and cable tying it all down.

Lol my old 34 used to do that, sometimes it'd even show that it was full and still show the fuel light. :S

Yo Plattsy,

Those r33 front inner guards you're selling in your FS post, are they the black plastic guard liners in front of the wheel, and the bottom of them extend forward towards the front bar?

If so, want, shredded mine the other weekend while overtaking on the hume, popped out and ground away to nothing on the wheel :P

yep they are. come get em man.

I also had a fun fuel issue with my tank, driving along did 30km after filling up and tank suprisingly empty...

Then a couple minutes later (directly on the way to servo) I see it actually move from E with the light on.. to full in about 1/2 a second right as I drive into the servo.

Drive out, a minute later, on E again.

Give it the "are you serious" stare and it moves between E and F about 5 times in 5 seconds, just waving at me. Hasn't happened since (months ago..)

Stupid troll car

It's interesting that 33s don't seem to have the same issues(the fuel guage may be inaccurate at times but it still works) considering everything tank side is exactly the same. I wonder if the issue is probably with the guage in the cluster itself?

When it's reading zero you could give it a thump, or wiggle the plugs at the back of the cluster to see if its a connection issue, wouldn't be the first skyline cluster to have issues ;)

Mine reads pretty badly, but its consistently bad so I can still tell what's what... Hitting the "E" means I've used about 35L, lol
