just get a 5k SSS. if you want to mod, its cheap. service cheap. fuel efficient when you want it to be.

your 20k you save will be much more worthwhile in deposit than on car that will cost you more in service and insurance etc.

Right on cue

Also I just ordered 48 dumplings to be delivered to work, we're hungry as hell here but can't be stuffed going out.

I get to come home tomorrow....

Choose my hours and work from home being a digital project manager / web developer. That might change next year though, I'll miss the freedom being able to go somewhere during the day and not having to let my boss know.

WA teachers are the highest paid in the country. Leesh has been doing it for 9 years so, although a solid income, for the experience and the hours put in it's kind of meager.

Should be much more, same with nursing and Ambo workers.

85k puts her in the top 20% income earners Australia and they get a large amount of holidays so really I don't think $85k is all that bad

I do agree however re nurses etc

part time retail, hours varying like a baws.

when i was full time living the intern lyf in summer tho, i was expected 9-5, but varied from like 8:30-6. that said, there was a guy that'd come in at 7, 7:30 and then bugger off at 3, 3:30. they were pretty flexible. so i'd say it'd depend on office.

but at this time i'd also work part time, nothing like 2 job same day hours.

edit: teaching 85K seems pretty solid. i remember my methods teacher in y11 told me he was making 75K i think... and he'd been working for decades. fuqdat. i'd sell out go private easy :P

dem holidays doe.

just had a quick squizz on carsales, 2011 wrx seems to be 25-30k. haven't been in one of those, only driven an 06. they're nice. but i don't know if you'll enjoy it coming from your v8 lol. just doesn't pull hard enough. although you're on boost... all the time. sti and evo different story but then again looks like you also want something newer (and accordingly new sti's or x's are more kesh money)

edit:

cray waffle i posted earlier aside, damn i could go for a steak right now.

dat delicious protein saus.

edit 2:

buy an a45 amg (only 3x the cost dw) ... dat frugality... and excellent for chasing ramen van's

I'll save Leesh attacking you lol

Living in WA puts her in the most expensive state for ongoing living expenses, it's all relative. There's a reason the FIFOs aren't saving that much money besides blowing it on coke and hookers.

Teacher work doesn't end when school holidays start either - popular misconception. They go into work all the time during holidays and spend a lot of their spare time marking work and planning lessons. Not just saying that cause my girlfriend is a teacher, but because I've seen first hand how much she works during the so called holidays; even has to bring work with her when she visits me. Not saying that I don't put in unpaid overtime in a non-teaching job, but it's a guaranteed necessity for teaching. That along with getting treated like ass by kids you can't even discipline or blame for most of the stuff they do. Can't stand up for yourself at all cause schools obsessed with pleasing parents these days and parents think their kids are fkin angel victims. You'd have to really love kids and wanting to make a difference to want to be a teacher!

    • Very decent bit of kit. Definitely black it out I reckon.
    • Because people who want that are buying euros. The people with the money to buy the aftermarket heads and blocks aren’t interested in efficiency or making -7 power, they’re making well over 1,000hp and pretty much only drive them at full throttle  best way to way make money is know your customer base and what they want and don’t spend money making things they don’t want.
    • It's not, but it does feel like a bit of a missed opportunity regardless. For example, what if the cylinder head was redesigned to fit a GDI fuel system? It's worth like two full points of compression ratio when looking at modern GDI turbo vs PFI turbo. I'm pretty reliably surprised at how much less turbo it takes to make similar power out of a modern engine vs something like an RB26. Something with roughly the same dimensions as a -7 on an S55 is making absolutely silly power numbers compared to an RB26. I know there's a ton of power loss from things like high tension rings, high viscosity oil, clutch fan, AWD standby loss, etc but it's something like 700 whp in an F80 M3 vs 400 whp in an R33 GTR. The stock TF035HL4W turbos in an F80 M3 are really rather dinky little things and that's enough to get 400 whp at 18 psi. This just seems unwise no? I thought the general approach is if you aren't knock limited the MFB50 should be held constant through the RPM range. So more timing with RPM, but less timing with more cylinder filling. A VE-based table should accordingly inverse the VE curve of the engine.
    • I've seen tunes from big name workshops with cars making in excess of 700kW and one thing that stood out to me, is that noone is bothering with torque management. Everyone is throwing in as much timing as the motor can take for a pull. Sure that yields pretty numbers on a dyno, but it's not keeping these motors together for more than a few squirts down the straight without blowing coolant or head gaskets. If tuners, paid a bit more attention and took timing out in the mid range, managed boost a bit better, you'll probably see less motors grenading. Not to name names, or anything like that, but I've seen a tune, from a pretty wild GT-R from a big name tuner and I was but perplexed on the amount of timing jammed into it. You would have expected a quite a bit less timing at peak torque versus near the limiter, but there was literally 3 degrees of difference. Sure you want to make as much as possible throughout the RPM range, but why? At the expense of blowing motors? Anyhow I think we've gone off topic enough once again lol.
    • Because that’s not what any of them are building these heads or blocks for. It’s to hold over over 1000hp at the wheels without breaking and none of that stuff is required to make power
