For some reason I feel like I want to buy a GC8

pro's / cons?

Con: giving your old man the bad news

Pro: glass gearbox...because hey, less time driving the car means more time for man lovin

I wouldn't buy one that didn't already have the 6 speed box.

they are cheeeeeap and I need a train station car that is still kinda enjoyable

tony has a civic for sale?

also, 2 weeks ago my dad recommended to stop torrenting for a few weeks... no one is going to track me down for downloading some 10 yro foreign tv programs so fuggit.

seriously just put a VPN in place and not stress.i was upgrading our router to one that supports it anyhow due to the Gov meta data crap

this just makes it more urgent

I'm using this on my table to get around country filters and hotel firewalls atm.

they have an app for a bunch of devices or you just put it on your openvpn router and your done for everything inside the network

    • I thought about ditching it but I was worried my bonnet would sound like a 90's Swift GTi sub-filled boot.
    • Have you found that you have to tighten your alternator belt once in a while? Mine has started to squeal again after the mechanic tightened it roughly a year ago and the engine starts up slow if I don't start it every day (think the starter motor is going out). It used to be if I don't drive it once a week I'd get a quick squeal on the belt but now it's every day or every other day. I might make a post of the start up sound.
    • I spent the entire of the long weekend going through my garage and I'm now, after 3.5yrs in this house, able to fit a car in. The garage is quite long and the back half has a high enough ceiling for a 2 post lift but it's going to just take too much space and I don't think I'd be able to get around the car if it was in the air. So, in comes the quick lift. It looks perfect. High enough to do most things, I reckon even getting a gearbox out would be doable.  Does anybody here have one? They're fairly cheap (~$3k) considering...  https://www.dtmtrading.com.au/product/quick-lift-portable-vehicle-hoist-3500-kg-worksafe-approved/ I'm also a bit of a non risk taker so I'd probably still use stands when under!
    • Well now we all see it! I did the same. Then cut it out. Then melted half of it. Then discarded it entirely. So... you're in good company.
    • I just replaced the god awful, sagging, crunchy bonnet insulation. It's something nobody but I see but it's been at me for a while.
