VWL, need opinions on muffler tips:

was originally going to go hidden 3" dumpy tip to keep it quiet and subtle, hidden behind the bumper. similar to stock (but less obvious):

but saw this picture and now almost persuaded to do the same. though not sure if would go well with stock bumper style. +5 bippu points, but not very subtle

That looks like aids...

VIP used to stand for very important person or Valerie Irons Protection...

I feel like most implementing this style these days are far removed from the original meaning

pfft, japan VIP has been crazy for a long time. it basically defined the hellaflush/stance craze in the US. (which is a pretty shit craze, but the similarities are there).

i used to not be a fan, but have come around to VIP to a fair bit.

I would never do it to my car, but scraping and straight pipes are pretty hardcore. in a good way.

ive really started to like how long-wheel base cars look limo length when sitting on the ground. i really wish people would VIP aussie long-wheel based 80's-90's fairlanes and statesmans. that way i dont have to do it.

If i had the cash and effort, i would go bags though.

Totally because Greg.

Probably a better driver may have managed to countersteer and avoid the kerb, but man, panic braking means very little went through my head.

Still better than putting someone else' head through my front bar.

+1 funnies because its a borrowed rim, which means mine is fine...

I think it's repairable. Just looks like a lot of gutter rash. I do mean a *lot*. It isn't buckled, so I mean hey that's good.. I guess..

Guess whos' booking an alignment, though!

Any pro tips re: Wheel fixers? I asked Alvin as he got my wheels I sold to him repaired and fixed and repainted but no reply because reasons.

when did you ask? I went to wheeltech dandenong. LOL probably lost in all the phones i keep breaking.

I love being in South Melb.

around 40 cafes/food places within 3 blocks plus the St Melb market.

plus I can park on the street all day.

moving to St Kilda road is going to hurt sooo bad.

tried mr loys on city road? best hainanese chicken rice you can buy in melb so far.

    • Thanks for that.... If only I could do something once and be happy with that, like some people do....
    • I had no transmission at all so I managed to find a big box manual gearbox from an R34 GTT for an insanely good price in EU. I converted it to push type which cost more than the transmission almost, with parts from Amayama! These engines are very strong and can put out decent power with a properly sized turbo. You can save on money from parts like pistons and rods, and invest those in the transmission and other parts. I suggest you join the RB20 Enthusiasts facebook group, plenty of info and almost daily posts there about 20DE/DET/Neo+T builds. (I hope I'm not breaking any forum rules by mentioning third party platforms, just trying to help the buddy out)
    • Yeah, having tried all of those methods including BBQ+recipro/hacksaw, I ended up buying a bush press kit under $150 that works well, like this: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/355967727167?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=705-154756-20017-0&ssspo=sfmmuhxgqhm&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=dJvnaZ11TB-&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY It basically has a range of pushers and cups with threaded rods between to press out a range of large bushes. The problem with any sawing solution is minimising damage to the subframe side, although it probably needs a quick sand afterwards no matter what solution you try due to damage
    • Hi. Thanks for the answer. I do not have instagram 😄 I too considering turbo the RB20DE NEO 🙂 But i think i upgrade the gearbox first or at least buy new.
