P.S. old mate came to Australia as an immigrant at 17 living at his brothers house and pissing money away on booze until his brother told him to get his shit together and get a job

Nek half century - slightly more successful than brother

For a guy worth 100mil plus he is ridiculously down to earth

Drives S350, modest 4 bedroom house, small holiday apartment in Lorne

General manager sold his 10% share too

Which sounds like fk all

But is $20mil+

I rushed to buy shares in parent company but they halted trading on the ASX before they told us lol

They doing a share offer to raise capital for the acquisition anyway, at a 5% discount to the last traded price...these things usually stop the insider trading.

I have to hand it to the LNP. Since the spill motion (well about a month after) they have been playing the game a LOT better. This could even get them over the line.... Wouldn't be surprised if it's under Bishop though... she played the bali 2 thing very, very well and won a lot of left wing voters over.

anyone know the australian definition of unemployed? over the age of 18 and not working? any adult collecting welfare? any adult not studying and collecting welfare?

6.5% sounds surprisingly low from what I seem to come across... though people with degrees looking for full-time work in their field, whilst working in unskilled areas is probably a lot higher than that.

Not all unemployed people are on benefits... "between jobs with decent savings or a working partner" etc...

I'd think it'd be a measurable figure like welfare plus a percentage to cover "others"... (Variable depending on what report the figure is going to be inserted into and if they want to make it look better/worse than it is)

+1, its like they realised their public image was becoming toxic and the ALP didn't actually need to do anything to make it look worse. Certainly seems like they've hired some new PR staff who are getting sh!t back on track...

I'm still sick of these bs claims of "We are going to offer $xxxM for Public Positive Funding #1, but only if the opposition doesn't block Public Negative Funding #2 that will fund it... so if it's blocked, it's the oppositions fault that we're not supplying the funding we promised"

    • It's something we all have to consider as time marches on. Also consider lifted rally MX5 conversion at that point.
    • I should be fine for a few more years, whilst I do have arthritis I also exercise and do mobility training every day to keep as fit and healthy as I can, military life, which is the actual cause of most of my joint issues, has set daily regimes, which I weirdly enjoy I also train alot smarter now, not really focusing on lots strength or puffy muscles, I'm more focused on maintaining what I have for my future older self, I actually train as much mobility now as I do exercising Check out this "simple" drill I have been doing daily prior to training now for a while now, this has worked wonders in my all round mobility
    • I'd say one thing that may make you sell is the same reason the guy with the hard top roof sold his. He got old, and his back was giving him too much grief stopping him getting in and out... Old guy said he was 73! He looked and sounded younger than 73 to me! Or maybe I'm just aligning with old people more...
    • Already looked at a few prior to getting the MX5, really nice car, had all the mod cons, but I wasn't really sold on the new "look" I did miss my 2017 Limited, and I personally prefer the "look" of the older car over the new model, but, when pondering I kept going back looking at MX5's But it was same same for the new ND's, I wasn't sold on the new "look", especially the RF with its weird roof, which only half goes down, like a targa top sort of thing As I stated before, I did look at NC's, but the cars I looked at were PRHT's, but I didn't like their roof line "look" of the PRHT, until I saw the soft top version, (someone on SAU posted a for sale ad for one with a soft top that caught my attention, you can blame them for my choice.....🤣) and.... that old style detachable hard tops were available for them, which keeps the old MX5 more smoother flowing roof line, and the more rounded body style, similar to the NA-NB, to me, the arse end of the ND looks to "modern" Much like how I prefer the NC1 front bar, over the later models How long will I keep this car for is unknown, but currently, there's nothing else out there that "floats my boat" for a small, fun, little "sports car", that I can play with and enjoy looking at and driving But, who knows what the future holds, and going off current new car styling, if I replace it, it will be a older model something something
