What I took from that article is that someone had to do a medical study to tell peole what most intelligent people already knew

That when you take people, pay them large amounts of money that they're not used to making, isolate them in a dessert with nothing to do other than get wasted and high, that they're going to spend that money on alcohol, drugs and hookers.
