Yeah was thinking about fuel efficiency difference as well, if I got an r1 would have to have exhaust already done bugger forking out heaps for an exhaust

Yer get one already zorsted, decent slip ons for R1 start at ~800 new.

hmm worth a try one of these days.

then again, looking at the menu, i'm suddenly not interested anymore. LOL.

Cause it doesn't have dog on it?

And for hot food, you could try ash's recommendation, in fact, i will eventually go there to check it out, but i'm in no hurry.

Their Sushi/Sashimi IMO is some of the best I've ever had in Melb. I usually go there for the cold dishes, not the hot ones.

Tookaiya special gets ordered every single time. Sakura Salmon rolls as well... Mint.

(I eat out a LOT :))

Also you can try Izakaya Den in Melb CBD for some more upbeat/contemporary style Jap - some great Imported beers to choose from in there as well. Must book though, the place is ALWAYS crazy busy even on a Wed night

Whoaa. Really? I've gone past that place by bus for 6 years going to school, always thought it was some average place like all the other asian restaurants on kroad.

Nope definitely not average. The owners (husband/wife) split semi recently and the wife still runs it. They also had another place in Moonee Ponds somewhere under a different name and was smaller, i believe he runs that :)

Rode in my mates 360kw xr6 and then I jumped into a mate's 200kw EVO 8.

Xr6 was crazy quick, its a three speed trimatic and pretty much fried tyres in every gear. Quick but felt sluggish. EVO felt faster lol, is it the weight and torque?

EVO's have a very short 1st through 3rd, so their acceleration is lightning quick, hence they are so fast for a streeter really

yup. no dog. i'd like some dog tataki

but since it comes so highly recommended. might pay them a visit soon, maybe tmr? LOL

i tried rabbit once, had some funky textured skin, was done in a stew. would never order that again,

snakes, and crocs and frogs are great though, neutral flavour. but pythons can be a little stringy,

monitor lizard is alright too, had some soup made from that.

wild duck's alright. not stinky like roo or lamb.

so if i were to try dog/cat, it'd only be to find out how it tastes, that's all. not a huge gastronome when it comes to obscure exotic meats.

Tookaiya - Keilor Rd. Been going there regularly for 7-8 years.

I've been to places like Nobu, Koko etc etc... And they are really good as well... However for the price, you will not find better that Tookaiya as it's not a fancy joint, just good quality traditional style. Massive thumbs up.

Not too far either, will have to give it a go. I'm more interested in what I'm assuming are the more boring dishes, chicken and rice based dishes...He's been there 2 days and already had chicken gut skewers (whatever the f**k they are) and some other strange shit...

And I eat rabbit all the time, doesn't taste gamey at all imo

    • Hey @Butters, did you end up getting this clutch in ? I have just ordered to a uniclutch track to go in my getrag 6 speed that’s in my BNR 32
    • I know you don't want to hear this comment, but I can't not say it.  I just can't see 200kw being worth the time and effort. Its like guys with NA cars, putting in headers/exhaust/tune for a massive 20% jump in power. Great, the slow car is still slow and you're down $10,000.  My vote is leave it NA or price in a gearbox upgrade and shoot for at least 300KW, preferably 350KW+.  Now you have a NC that will try to kill you from time to time and will be exciting to drive
    • Ah yep. The main message I want to pass on is, try not to get scared of ghosts when thinking about knock/knock detection.  What I mean is, healthy engines make noise. Knock is also noise. Your knock sensor and ECU combo are trying to determine bad noise from good noise based on how loud the noise is. The factory knock sensors and ECU are not good at doing this.  Modern ECU's are pretty decent at it, however I'd still say that you would want to verify that if your ECU says it's knock, that you actually listen to it and confirm that it is correct.  Are you familiar with the plex knock monitor?  https://www.plex-tuning.com/products/plex-knock-monitor-v3/ I expect you're the type of person that would be very keen to play with something like this. It is great knock detection and you can pop some headphones on and listen to what's going on.  Knock that you've deliberately induced in low load low RPM areas is not really putting anything at risk and is a great tuning/learning/verification tool.  I just thought this was worth mentioning based on the way you were talking about setting up a base map and the Haltech base map settings. There are better ways to spend your time then chasing ghosts and worrying about detonation in scenarios that it is crazy unlikely to encounter it.  I was also wondering, what ECU are you planning to get? Will it be long til you pick it up?
    • This came quicker than I thought. It ain't even 2025 yet.
    • I somehow quoted my post instead of editing it. I regret nothing.
