100k combined will not provide a comfortable living if you wish to live someone remotely close to cbd, not have financial stress over bills & food, have a couple of cars still go out for dinner here and there 100k before tax is fk all these days.

obviously everyone has different opinion of 'comfortable' - Tony the tax man run numbers on take home per month after tax at 100k combined?

100k combined is more take home than a 100k single income, though.

That's the kicker, though - so many young couples these days think they can live close to the CBD or in the suburbs where they grew up...borrow way too much for it at low interest rates and then struggle to get by when shit hits the fan. It used to be that most young couples would be happy to move out to fringe suburbs and start a family out there. Feel like expectations are changing! Maybe just the people I hear from...

We've also got a lot more material shit to buy these days than we did 20 years ago, when it was really just a car and a house...maybe a boat.

Damn straight we do.

I'm doing the opposite.... Gonna get a place in south east for ten years, then move further easy on a bit of land as I get older... f**k city life. I grew up in one.

just got current powerbill today...

1422 for a quarter...

in b4 NO there is not a drug growing area.

Can you explain why your bill is so high...

Do you leave running 5 x 100inch plasmas all day on with the lights on 24/7?

I started getting meat once a week from a wholesaler, and fruit and veg from a green grocer. both on a different day on my way home from work. wipes 10-20% off my grocery bill.

No home phone/line rental - dollars in the pocket.

Turn off power points and standby items, saves a fair bit of electricity.

Request water saving shower head in rental - saves the dollars.

Run heater or A/C only when more than one person is home and only at night. Keep blinds closed-ish mostly through summer.

Certainly adds up.

Just want to experiment, but just realised that the gopro case is completely sealed.... unless I get the drill out.

yes you have to drill it, doesnt bother me though dont care bout the waterproof part. and if i did i'd just buy another case

    • Update time!  The JZX110 had some maintenance needing to be done, so a lot of the seals with replaced to fix some oil leaks. Also used this opportunity to whack on a front mount that I'd bought some time ago.  I also finally got the rear lip painted and fitted.  I then got the exhaust done. It's just a catback for now. Custom made 3" stainless with a turn down. I could have a tip coming out, but it will require cutting the rear lip and possibly the bumper itself. So far I do like and it's made the car a little more zippy.  Close out with some nice pictures of the cars and a sneak peek of what's next.

    • Just something I found searching for more info on Emotion R, apparently the ECR33 Skyline GTS25t was either originally black, or there were two of them, the black one being the original demo car, then building a white one which was part of the 1997-onwards (to at least 2008!) Cockpit Tatebayashi Tokyo Auto Salon booth demo cars. It appears that Emotion R closed down in 2008 and was declared bankrupt in 2010: http://bank-db.com/hasan/208365. Scan of a magazine with the black R33 from 1996: Wayback machine archived page from May, 2000: https://web.archive.org/web/20000529061027/http://www.emotion-r.co.jp/skyline.html Option magazine with a few photos from the Cockpit Tatebayashi booth at the Auto Salon from various years: 2002: http://www.jdm-option.com/photo/index.php?action=item&category_id=154&image_id=3507 2003: http://www.jdm-option.com/photo/index.php?action=item&category_id=137&image_id=3033 2005: http://www.jdm-option.com/photo/index.php?action=item&category_id=116&image_id=1831 In 2008 Cusco website mentions that the Cockpit Tatebayashi ECR33 was displayed at that year's Tokyo Auto Salon: https://www.cusco.co.jp/event/2008/12/post_735.html As of 2021 it appears that the ECR33 demo car ended up being exported to Florida, USA: https://rmcmiami.com/inventory/1996-nissan-skyline-r33-cockpit-tatebayashi-demo-car-big-te06-turbo-endless-brakes-lsd-450hp/ And finally here's Google streetview of the Emorion R garage in 2023 which is amazingly not only still there, but the showroom is still full of various parts in stock and funishings, etc.: https://maps.app.goo.gl/ttyEAZdZLyzermyT9 Apologies for nerding out a bit. I used to love doing this 20 years ago on SAU and got a bit nostalgic for a moment... 😅
