:'( I am a bit of a bogan though, drink VB and drive a V8 M8! Did I mention I've been to summernats 4 times? :P

And yeah got the GS brah how come? had it 2 years still going strong love it.

just looking around with all the summernats things and all in town, blown engines came to mind and i was just looking them up.

impressive numbers and increases over stock with just software changes.

missurs was like: "I heard summernats was on this week, didnt you want to go?" strong unaware.

decided no Phillip Island for me on 1st of Feb. get car done then compete in championships.

inb4 broken driveshafts

richo convinced me last night to get off my arse, so looks like I'm entering...std 2wd class at that ;)

photos's were basically 8 million cars with heinous paint jobs, MASSIVE wheels, rubber band tyres and turbos, blowers, plenums etc sticking out of the bonnet then smoke, some fugly haggard bitches with thier tits out, more smoke and bogans in 80's shoes, white framed arnettes, thin singlet tops and what looks to be the male equivalent of pedal pushers

i went to spring nats one year..

never again..

dumbest shit ive seen, between everyone there, may have been a whole set of teeth.

also

an abo got ran over by a truck

I grew up near shepp so this was my introduction to car culture..

first few years were actually quite interesting, then turned into what hamish said, burnouts and a little dyno work,

then moved to showground from deca and it down to 30-40 entries.

been out of town past 2-3 years of it, but next time in country i'm entering the S14 just to do the motokana and demolish some V8's

lern2beer fgt

haha it's not the only beer I drink, I never buy it just drink it when it's offered at family gatherings / camping / pub rounds etc. not so bad since they changed it :)

Sorry to hear! Steal anything or just damaged the locks?

Dat northern Hawthorn life

Take anything?

Moved a few months ago, supposedly to a 'nicer' area

Alarm siren is gone from engine bay, but there's no other damage. Door locks still rooted from last time someone had a crack, must have got in through the top of the window. Interior untouched strangely enough

Just about ready to ragequit skylines

Wut?! Vb over draught? You like your water slightly beer flavoured then....

since they changed it, its a bit better. so over carlton on tap. tastes worse everytime I have a pint. sober or otherwise

I bet Alex knows dem feels too :P

And yep Hamish you're right.. I just got back from 5 days in Bright with family / friends spent barely any cash everyone was stocked up on teh VBs and happy to throw em around - free beers ftw

Anyone else getting on the big bash? (20/20) I HATE cricket but find this alright to watch, far better than the other shit.

    • From the pictures I have when doing the job the flywheel is the same diameter, I don't think they're playing weird tricks like putting weights at the outer diameter to increase flywheel inertia or anything like that. The OEM flywheel is definitely heavier, but it's not a huge difference. Quoted weight savings of the clutch is 2 kg so I can't imagine the flywheel being lighter than ~7 kg. Kind of regret not weighing it before the clutch went into the car but as far as driveability goes I have no complaints.
    • HKS trigger kit should be very easy to integrate with a Link. It's a 36-2 crank trigger. Hard part is finding the motivation to take off the timing belt and everything on the front of the engine to install it. You also need to cut out a hole in the oil pump housing so the sensor can read the trigger wheel. Changing out the cam sensor for a 24 tooth setup is probably good enough but as others have mentioned depending on what underlying assumptions are changed it becomes more of a problem. Reading the crank state off of the cam is an abstraction that works in the general case, but if you have an edge case it makes less and less sense. There is a GTX2860 gen 2 that can take a compact 5 bolt housing so it's direct bolt on but I'm not 100% sure of what's involved. Peak compressor efficiency drops off a bit on these turbos vs -5s, 77% vs 73% but you get way, way wider region of operation. The -5s have a really strange surge line in their compressor map that is all over the place. If you think the hot side on the -5s aren't open enough you can try the Tomei T550B turbos which a local tuner seems to be happy with:
