well considering nearly every low powered car these days is turbo charged, this rule was brought in at exactlly the wrong time.

SO I can drive a 200+kw XR6 or SV6

but not a 1L 90 kw fiesta...

or say ANY Volvo on market today as that would not be safe...

yes I know these cars started getting exceptions but they had to modify build plates and such which is such a joke.

the P plate laws never affected me, (obviously) but damn they were the biggest pile of turd the vic gov ever created.

On a semi related note

Need to concentrate on education rather than speed kills

Saw this on bookface yesterday

The types of p-platers that are dickheads on the road are going to go fast and crash no matter what the car. Restricting them won't do anything, they will still do the same thing in a 4cl Camry.

It will stop some crashing.

Go drive a 300kw skyline and tell me that won't increase your chances if losing it

Definitely more tempting to speed in a skyline than it is in a plain Jane car.

Look at all my traffic light Grand Prixes...wouldn't happen if I had a slow car / maturity,

I find that I accelerate harder in the skyline (pedal percentage) than I do in my families cars (Liberty and Mazda 6 and VE Wagon), yet I find that I speed more in their cars for some reason :|

I find it's easier to subconsciously speed in the slower/more comfortable cars because you feel like you're going slower.
It's definitely easier to consciously speed in the skyline though :P

can still do that now in the Golf R32's. most are P-plater owned now.

vr6 engine sounds tits though

an acquaintance of mine had one. but still $$ for most p platers i'd say... especially if they're still studying / don't have parental handouts
