Does SAU VIC ever have DIY days? Haven't seen any posted recently, I know in other car clubs they tend to do them more regularly.

Define "DIY Days", do you mean getting together and having a few tutorials on how to do certain tasks with cars? Oil / Plug / Filter Change, how to test if your bushes are worn and may need replacement, general car maintenance checklists etc?

More everyone working on their cars for the day.

Not sure if it's as common for Skylines (probably because there are less issues haha), but with the FTO club we use to do them every few months where we worked on our cars with basic maintenance, upgrading parts, helping others fix their cars etc.

lol

the Mrs golf, within 18 months of a brand new car.

- DSG shudders and clunks under acceleration

- car rolls back if started on incline - if incline steep enough, car unable to move

- VW recall - without car for 2 weeks - issues half fixed, car still rolls but doesn't get stuck and now shudders on decel instead

- Started running on 3 cyl due to ignition lead placed within 2 cm of turbo hotside - common fault, clearly "planned obsolescence"

- car sounds like oil is empty when in low revs.... not confidence inspiring

Sounds about right.. Horrible cars all round

Makes me sad had considered an r8 in the future not so likely now

I do this every few months, have 2-3 blokes around and we all work on our cars and have a bbq :) Lots of swearing and knuckle scraping fun :)

I could potentially see problems doing this with SAUVIC in an official capacity, insurance issues if we're doing it at a workshop etc :/

I'll put the call out for wastelanders next time I'm going to have a car weekend though :D

Ironic numberplates on a car for sale where scams are common?
