i semi-dated chinese once...

something about the forceful parents, dedicating life to studies, disapproving grandparents who lived at home, who also didnt trust anyone with a beard and who also didnt understand why i wasnt studying because my profession isnt translated well in chinese (pick a language)... made it hard for a relationship.

and she was pretty sheltered.

aka didnt want sex. just lots of public affection. a real winner.

the other kind i know are at the other end of the spectrum...

working at bars, failing studies, lying to parents about said studies + life in general, hair budget exceeding food budget and constantly posting selfies and/or hand gestures.

a real winner.

and then there are the ones you buy.

who need constant prada and gucci handbags. brand new cars every 6 months etc etc.

and in reality are sleeping with me more than they are you, because well, your rich, but im better looking.

haha

story may or may not be true.*

*cairns has a high population of token asian brides.

Possibly the most accurate generalisation I've ever read

Also quite accurate

Chinese girls have always seemed boring as shit to me, too reserved. Those ones you spoke about in your first racist post, at least. It seems like if you were to pursue one they would eventually open up to you and reveal more boring shit under each layer of personality, until you got to Pandora's box, where to your surprise you would find...a plethora of boring shit.

Me: ever done anything adventurous in your life?

Chinese girl: I once played a D minor piano concerto in D major

I'm sure there's plenty of different shades of boring shit to amazingly out there.

People just take note of the super blah beige personality and the extreme opposite of that (probably due to rebelling against option 1) of the chick with pink hair going all out stereotype.

There's got to be in betweens, but so normal that they're just you know... normal people...

LOL! @ trying to date and figure out a Chinese girl.

I think people would make the mistake of trying to work out things that aren't there.

The fobs I know are pretty straightforward girls, simple priorities that are well sorted and predictable. Seems to me if you want someone that you don't have to figure out, then head in that direction.

Stark generalisations are fun.

Yeah generalisations are fun, cause most of the time it's stereo typically true.

I took an Asian girl out to dinner, under the condition I bring my parents (because she wanted to meet them) and she can bring her friend.

Most awkward dinner ever.

She has lived in AUS for 10 years but still retains the FOB values.

haha I would rather have a table for one than bring parents along.

there are plenty of people between the spectrums and even the polars can be really cool people. just two noteworthy people I thought fit the stereotype in a depressing way.

birds, what you speak of about the searching for something if ladies open up (their minds/hearts). it certainly drags me along even though until now I hadn't really thought about the 95% of the times the knowledge gained was nowhere near the worth the effort it took to get it.

in gaming terms, it's like an MMO. much heartache, grinding and adult diapers for a very small return. just settle with what you can get cause it's not worth the effort and is a much better investment?

PS I'm writing this while sitting in a foyer at southland and my outlook on life is changing as more and more track suit pants walk past.

need to get out of here. (least it's not chadstone)

    • Very decent bit of kit. Definitely black it out I reckon.
    • Because people who want that are buying euros. The people with the money to buy the aftermarket heads and blocks aren’t interested in efficiency or making -7 power, they’re making well over 1,000hp and pretty much only drive them at full throttle  best way to way make money is know your customer base and what they want and don’t spend money making things they don’t want.
    • It's not, but it does feel like a bit of a missed opportunity regardless. For example, what if the cylinder head was redesigned to fit a GDI fuel system? It's worth like two full points of compression ratio when looking at modern GDI turbo vs PFI turbo. I'm pretty reliably surprised at how much less turbo it takes to make similar power out of a modern engine vs something like an RB26. Something with roughly the same dimensions as a -7 on an S55 is making absolutely silly power numbers compared to an RB26. I know there's a ton of power loss from things like high tension rings, high viscosity oil, clutch fan, AWD standby loss, etc but it's something like 700 whp in an F80 M3 vs 400 whp in an R33 GTR. The stock TF035HL4W turbos in an F80 M3 are really rather dinky little things and that's enough to get 400 whp at 18 psi. This just seems unwise no? I thought the general approach is if you aren't knock limited the MFB50 should be held constant through the RPM range. So more timing with RPM, but less timing with more cylinder filling. A VE-based table should accordingly inverse the VE curve of the engine.
    • I've seen tunes from big name workshops with cars making in excess of 700kW and one thing that stood out to me, is that noone is bothering with torque management. Everyone is throwing in as much timing as the motor can take for a pull. Sure that yields pretty numbers on a dyno, but it's not keeping these motors together for more than a few squirts down the straight without blowing coolant or head gaskets. If tuners, paid a bit more attention and took timing out in the mid range, managed boost a bit better, you'll probably see less motors grenading. Not to name names, or anything like that, but I've seen a tune, from a pretty wild GT-R from a big name tuner and I was but perplexed on the amount of timing jammed into it. You would have expected a quite a bit less timing at peak torque versus near the limiter, but there was literally 3 degrees of difference. Sure you want to make as much as possible throughout the RPM range, but why? At the expense of blowing motors? Anyhow I think we've gone off topic enough once again lol.
    • Because that’s not what any of them are building these heads or blocks for. It’s to hold over over 1000hp at the wheels without breaking and none of that stuff is required to make power
