CBFd asking him for a name to obtain degrees of separation / realise it's a small world, especially when we have no other worlds to compare it to

lol

I wouldn't confirm it online anyway ;)

not sure if i said before but congrats! when do you start?

Thanks man.... It's not a huge pay increase 5% (dat "bracket creep") but it's a massive opportunity as from this role I can go straight to a business bank manager role if I want

speaking of bracket creep... I am seriously struggling to understand what circumstances this can occur in.

the only time you really get hit and have to pay serious extra tax is when you have a large pay increase in one hit, which could hardly be considered "creeping"

I'm going through a similar thing at the moment.. accepted a new job but only getting paid like 2% more... in a year though should pay off once I get the experience and review. Even if I just use them for a year job hop somewhere else.

Current place gave f**k all opportunities. I'm actually mad that I stayed here for 2 and a half years.

You've answered your own question lol

It's bracket creep, not bracket sprint

It's more used to illustrate the cumulative effect on the entire workforce as opposed to one person

yeh, i get that, but what I mean is how is it supposed to be a problem?

Isn't that essentially why the brackets are re-done every 5 years odd?

if you go from $79,999 to $80,001 you aren't realistically paying any more tax (ok maybe a few cents annually)

Fkn left wing media :P

I put these people in the same basket as those who blanket state that you get taxed more if you work a second job

this is why OT can be really annoying. sometimes you barely even notice its there due to tax.

but if you had a pretty quiet year for OT you get a lot of that tax back because you're not earning 40% extra per fortnight, every fortnight.

...but thats why some enjoy salary and salary packages more... and stupid "uplift" systems. and "bonuses".

pfft sif not cash in hand a second job anyway

Most of the time I heard this was when people were 18/19 working their first and/or second casual job and don't understand how a tax free threshold works - most whinging when they owed tax after declaring it for both their jobs.

well yeah, I can see how it can be "creep" on a fortnightly basis with OT, but annualised it all works out as you said...

The problem is when the rates aren't adjusted every few years, or inflation still offsets any adjustments that are made

But yes the left wing media is a joke, especially when my (incrementally increasing) tax dollars are paying for large chunks of it

Thus another element of tax stupidity emerges.. People thinking a large refund is a win

I'll take the time value of the cash during the year over a refund cheque any day of the week

Yeah well these people aren't the kind to have their monies sitting in a high interest account or portfolio of investments, but I agree it's a good strategy if you're not a paycheck to paycheck person.

wastelanders all so money hungry :P

well.....

I grew up on the crime side, the New York Times side
Staying alive was no jive
At second hands, moms bounced on old men
So then we moved to Shaolin land
A young youth, yo rockin' the gold tooth, 'Lo goose
Only way, I begin to gee off was drug loot
And let's start it like this son, rollin' with this one
And that one, pullin' out gats for fun
But it was just a dream for the teen, who was a fiend
Started smokin' woolies at sixteen
And running up in gates, and doing hits for high stakes
Making my way on fire escapes
No question I would speed, for cracks and weed
The combination made my eyes bleed
No question I would flow off, and try to get the dough all
Sticking up white boys in ball courts
My life got no better, same damn 'Lo sweater
Times is ruff and tuff like leather
Figured out I went the wrong route
So I got with a sick ass click and went all out
Catchin' keys from across seas
Rollin in MPV's, every week we made forty G's
Yo nigga respect mine, or anger the tech nine
Ch-chick-POW! Wu from the gate now

    • Thanks for that.... If only I could do something once and be happy with that, like some people do....
    • I had no transmission at all so I managed to find a big box manual gearbox from an R34 GTT for an insanely good price in EU. I converted it to push type which cost more than the transmission almost, with parts from Amayama! These engines are very strong and can put out decent power with a properly sized turbo. You can save on money from parts like pistons and rods, and invest those in the transmission and other parts. I suggest you join the RB20 Enthusiasts facebook group, plenty of info and almost daily posts there about 20DE/DET/Neo+T builds. (I hope I'm not breaking any forum rules by mentioning third party platforms, just trying to help the buddy out)
    • Yeah, having tried all of those methods including BBQ+recipro/hacksaw, I ended up buying a bush press kit under $150 that works well, like this: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/355967727167?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=705-154756-20017-0&ssspo=sfmmuhxgqhm&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=dJvnaZ11TB-&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY It basically has a range of pushers and cups with threaded rods between to press out a range of large bushes. The problem with any sawing solution is minimising damage to the subframe side, although it probably needs a quick sand afterwards no matter what solution you try due to damage
    • Hi. Thanks for the answer. I do not have instagram 😄 I too considering turbo the RB20DE NEO 🙂 But i think i upgrade the gearbox first or at least buy new.
